'This place is great except we didn’t have any soap in our soap dispenser or lotion in our lotion dispenser. What happened to the little bar of soap they used to leave at the sink??? Actually, just bring a bar of soap from home! Love the front desk staff. Breakfast is great. Room and bath CLEAN! Very close to Duke Medical Center which is a big plus. Also close to Duke University.'

'This was one of the best Hampton Inn I have ever stayed at because the breakfast was made perfectly, the scrambled eggs were actually scrambled eggs and they had sausage patties that were flavorful. The only thing that wasn’t great was the mini fridge because like all of them it does not get very cold even when you adjust the thermostat. I had read reviews from visitors this week. 'This place could be something amazing. Looks like a massive property that was put in the wrong place. It could use a bit of upkeep here and there but by far and away the best value I have paid for a hotel. This place is significantly underrated. There has to be a story here I have not found, something happened and they are now limping along. Overall great stay'

'I was in town for a concert that my daughter was in at Duke University. I booked through Expedia. Nowhere on the hotel's website or in additional details on Expedia is it said that there will be an additional $100 fee for incidentals. I was not prepared to need that and although it caused a bit of frustration, the front desk person was great and understood my frustration.
