'Asked for ocean view but of all the visitors checked in we got the worst view. Wondered how that is decided? Outside our balcony was a roof. Could see ocean if you looked to the right.'

'The main point is for the cost we were expecting a luxury boutique hotel - the hotel is RUNDOWN, the walls of our room looked like we were living in a half finished renovation, the bedding was sub-par polyester duvet and pillow stuffing, the paint everywhere was peeling from ceilings inside and out on the deck, on the windowpanes, and edges of doors were all scuffed, the plastic plant at the top of the stairs had a jute covering falling off it the 3 days were there. Our bathroom was modern but...

'Perfect location. Rooms were clean enough. Housekeeping upon request. Also need to ask for clean towels which they could improve upon. No real breakfast available other than coffee, oh and bagels. Ice machine and cold water available in the lobby. Nice view from the room with balconies.'

'1661 is a great hotel. It is the kind of place that is homey and calm, an escape from the fast past that can be at block. The staff is caring and very professional. The inn keeper makes each stay personable and welcoming. We have stayed here before and we will again!'
