'Great staff all the way around, wonderful morning breakfast served with a selection and plenty of room to dine. The hotel bar was excellent along with the lobby very well decorated and comfortable.'

'Gives a The Shinning vibe. Has a very odd smell which is the combination of cinnamon and sage oil. The decor looks like an 20's themed party which was decorated by Amazon. The carpet with the dates was unnerving. I understand at one point this was the best hotel in Des Moines but that is not today. The staff was nice but somewhat disconnected I'm guessing because they aren't making enough to feed and shelter themselves. The parking is next door to the hotel and although not a deal breaker. ...

'As soon as I walked into the hotel, I was greeted with a smile and a warm welcome. Gina was by far the sweetest young lady. She explained everything to me and showed me where the elevators were at as well as making sure I was comfortable. The room was all that and more! The bed was super comfortable and the breakfast was delicious! I would definitely be back here when I visit my best friend again! 10 Stars if I could rate it that high!'

'Expedia defaulted to my login name and last name on the reservation but we didn’t realize until we arrived. The lady at the front desk was super annoyed and short with us as we tried to navégate how to fix it. I had a receipt with my full correct name on it as proof and expedia called twice to confirm it was me and that they’d updated the name. I get the name has to match but she didn’t have to be so short with us. When as my partner and I talked amongst ourselves she would interject to say...

'Clean rooms, mini fridge and microwave, parking lot was under repair so had to walk to a temporary lot but other then that this was a nice hotel. Very close to downtown which was very convenient.'

'Expedia mess up my reservation and wouldn’t give me a refund, I booked a 1 room, 2 bed, and got a one room with a twin bed. Completely ruined my trip'

'While there are some updates around the property, some of the carpet looks worn down. Also the breakfast was okay but I have stayed in nicer hotels in bigger cities for the same amount per night.'

'I have spend two night at this hotel. Service was good, friendly personnel. The hotel is quite old and can use some renovation. Beds are OK but the bathroom is old. Heating system makes a lot of noise and you can't turn it off. Fitness center has old equipment and it was damaged. The steakhouse is great and cozy. Good food for a good price. Breakfast is also great. Overall a good stay, probably one of the better hotels close to DSM airport. Very close to the interstate!'
