'We stayed at a hotel just across the street on our way down to Ocracoke Island. Let’s just say thumbs down. So I called Holiday Inn Express and made some inquiries about the beds in particular. We took a chance and booked it and this will now be THEE hotel we stay at coming and going from Ocracoke. I was very pleased with the beds in particular. 'This is place is a gem! Quiet, off of the beaten trail, & right on the water. Nothing fancy, but then are you on vacation just to stay in a hotel room - No! The bed was comfortable (pillow top mattress) and the people are wonderful! We stopped here on our way to the Outer Banks & extended our stay by 1 night because of hurricane damage to our ultimate destination.'
