Kies je hotel in Pope County

'It is a very peaceful environment. Walking the property offers opportunities for quiet reflection , as does simply sitting on the porch overlooking the river.'

'This is an amazing property and unique experience. It is “off the grid” in a sense, but had everything we needed and was clean. Friendly staff and very cool antique decor. Definitely recommend!'

'The unit was more than I expected. The cabin was furnished with comfortable seating indoors, a full kitchen, TV, comfortable bed, clean bathroom with a hot shower, and more. I will definitely be booking this place again for another getaway.'

'Great location for exploring Shawnee National Forest! Property was clean and quiet. They are in the process of updating the rooms on the property.'

'We decided to book this place because it was close to Garden of The Gods, and it was available at a great price. The view of the Ohio River was amazing. The host was friendly, and the room was clean. The only issue we had was the doorknob to the bathroom would stick, making it a little difficult to get out of the bathroom.'

'Really great spot, great use of space. Cozy. A lot little extras made our time even better.'

'Pros: quiet little cabin, tucked just inside from a street. Clean & cozy. Cons 1. Mattress: It was too soft & saggy in the middle. Another reviewer mentioned this too. I wasn't able to get a restful night's sleep. Either my knees or neck would be sore in the mornings 2. Not enough brightness / lights: The interior feels dark - with an okay ceiling light, where 1-2 if the bulbs would slowly go dim as tine went on. Kitchen light was brigther.'

'Definitely will come back A+++ . Hot tub was perfect but definitely needs a umbrella for day time soaks. Shawnee is a beautiful place to relax with Nature.'

'Very clean and so cute! Our host responded quickly. It was very peaceful. Just what we were looking for. We would recommend to others.'

'Everything was great! We will definitely be returning.'

'The bungalow was a good efficiency space with an excellent kitchen appliances and everything you need to cook meals. My favorite time was to sit on the porch and watch the river flow. It was so relaxing. There were trails you could walk. I remember one evening, I was stressed and went for a walk. It was so quiet with nothing but birds chirping their songs. It was so nice to be in quiet space for a couple of days.'

'The house is perfect for a secluded getaway. Our group had a great time. We spent most of our time outside in the pool and hot tub. The host, Jessica, made communication easy also.'

'We had such an awesome stay at the Shawnee Apple Shack. It was so cute, clean, and had everything that we needed! There was plenty to do in the Southern Illinois area for the weekend. We definitely recommend staying there and would love to come back sometime!'

'Very cute, clean and cozy house. Loved the decor. The beds were very comfy. It has motion sensor night lights to help you navigate through the night. Especially helpful in the lower level and on the staircase. Would definitely stay again!'
