'Conveniently located, plenty of options for breakfast although I felt bad for the lady working as there was a bus group two mornings and it was all she could do to keep up with them. Parking was easy. The stairwell was surprisingly clean, wide, well-maintained which isn't something you'd normally notice, but it was that nice. My room was quiet with the exception of 5am and 530am Friday morning when the garbage was being picked up but that is beyond the hotel's control. I could stay there again.'

'First room assigned had not been cleaned. Had food and trash, along with cigarette butts and smoke (in a non-smoking room). I understand that the misuse of the room was not management's fault, but that of the prior occupants. However, there should have been protocols in place to insure that rooms are cleaned and noted as such before new guests arrive. The front desk person was very apologetic and noticeably frustrated that this occurred, and when she told another staff member it was shrugged...

The staff member mumbled, then brushed my hand away, then said he had to throw it all out, and continued to berate me when he returned until I told him to stop talking to me (please). 'I booked a room at Best Western Saluki Inn in Carbondale Il. The room was very clean and the service was excellent. However the indoor pool was “closed out of order”. I questioned the front desk about the closure of the pool and was told it would be opened in two days. It was not. I chose this establishment for the indoor pool, to relax.
