'The hotel was phenomenal! We were greeting so warmly on arrival and given great dining and neighborhood tips by Ben- who was wonderful. The rooms were beautiful and all aspects of the hotel and dining/ bar spaces were gorgeous and full of character. We enjoyed The Portrait Bar a couple of times and had such fun. We also had breakfast in the restaurant and a spectacular dinner at Cafe Carmellini. I wish I could remember our server’s name because she was top notch. I will go back to The Fifth...

'Prima hotelletje voor een paar dagen New York. De kamer is klein maar efficient en er is een prima lobby waar je goed kunt zitten. Gratis ontbijt is een aardige plus ( koffie, croisants, muffins maar ook vers fruit). Vlak bij Grand Central station, dus goede metro verbindingen. Aardig personeel. Goed matras en grote tv (niet gebruikt). '

The renovated rooms are absolutely perfect and the suites are HUGE! 'The hotel thrives on the staff, especially the reception and surroundings and housekeeping! Breakfast could do better, but nevertheless okay. Rooms are (too) small, dark and horribly outdated. The neighbourhood is dirty and not very attractive though close enough to the more popular areas in downtown. In short I would not recommend this hotel until renovated (not only the rooms but also the lounge area and restaurant).'

'Prettig personeel, leuk ingericht, super schoon. Locatie was fantastisch. Ferry naar manhattan binnen twee straten. Veilige buurt. Leuke winkels op loopsafstand. Klein minpuntje: door de houten vloeren kan het lopen van andere gasten hoorbaar zijn. Maar dat is dan ook echt het enige. Zonder twijfel ga ikvilgende keer weer naar dit fantastische hotel!'

'We hadden een fantastisch verblijf in het Kixby hotel. Overal dichtbij, prima grote kamer. Erg vriendelijk en behulpzaam personeel. Een mini verbeterpunt: de airco was direct naast een van de queensize bedden geplaatst, waardoor je echt werd weggeblazen gedurende de nacht. Met heet weer is het uitzetten van de airco geen optie. (Deels opgelost door een muur van kussens)'

'The hotel is inside part of the old Met Life building on Madison Avenue which makes it a little difficult to find for the taxi drivers. Once actually in the hotel the staffing level is good and staff are attentive and helpful. The rooms are of a good size for NY and as this is a new hotel they are in very good condition. I would happily stay there again. '

"Good place next to time square, clean hotel, good beds, rooms for 4 persons aren somewhat small if you have suitcases, but doable. Breakfast is proper and included (just missing basic options for bread such as cheese and ham). The elevator situation especially around breakfast time is terrible. There are 5 elevators for over 30+ floors. If you are below level 20 there is a fair chance that you have to wait +10 mins for a elevator thats not full. Further is the rooftop bar not just to but you must take a table. Outside space is limited, while inside the airco is on turbo. Staff in general is nice, there is a basic but well maintained gym and they offer taxi services in case u need one to the airport. Conclusion, eventhough the elevator situation I would return."
