"Divan Istanbul is een strategisch gelegen vijfsterrenhotel in Taksim. Bezienswaardigheden en openbaar vervoer liggen op loopafstand. De aankomst verliep stroef doordat het receptiepersoneel de gasten negeerde, maar een attente bellboy greep in. De lobby is prachtig gedecoreerd met grote glazen kroonluchters en loopt over in de Lobby Bar. De gasten kregen een upgrade naar twee geschakelde kamers met een extra zithoek en een tweede badkamer. De verblijven combineren klassieke grandeur met modern gemak: de elektriciteit werkt zonder keycard en drie telefoons zorgen voor snelle service. Nadelen zijn de luidruchtige airconditioning, een saai uitzicht en licht hoorbaar straatgeluid. De marmeren badkamers bieden luxe met een uitstekende waterdruk, een antislipvloer en premium voorzieningen zoals een volwaardige bus scheerschuim. Het ontbijt op het terras heeft een vers, compact buffet dat continu wordt aangevuld. Eiergerechten worden aan tafel bereid. Premium opties zoals Eggs Benedict en espresso kosten extra. De bediening bij het ontbijt kampt met onderbezetting en een taalbarrière in het Engels, waardoor bestellingen soms misgaan en eigen initiatief vereist is. De schoonmaak van de kamers was daarentegen uitmuntend. Conclusie: Een betrouwbaar en uiterst comfortabel hotel dat klassieke grandeur succesvol combineert met moderne functionaliteit, ondanks enkele kleine verbeterpunten in de service en het omgevingsgeluid."

A special thank you to EMEL for her kindness, professionalism, and warm hospitality. She made every breakfast a pleasure and helped make our stay truly memorable. One small suggestion would be to offer the option of enjoying a glass of wine or another alcoholic beverage with dinner or on the terrace. Thank you to EMEL and the entire Sultanhan team. We highly recommend this hotel and would gladly return."
