'We had a great time at Na'alehu. We arrived after dark and the road to the apartment was a little bit scary, as some parts are not paved. But just keep going to the top of the hill and you'll find the place. Vickie and Wesley were very friendly and exeptionally helpful during our stay - thank you! The place is close to south point, green sands beach and Punalu'u black sand beach (where green sea turtles sometimes come to rest). We also recommend the Punalu'u bakeshop with delicious treats.'

'The house was beautiful and location was ideal for visiting Volcanoes National Park and black sand beach. Only knock we have was the shower water temperature never got very warm. While it wasn’t cold, it wasn’t ideal either. Otherwise 5 stars!'

'The unit was exactly as pictured. The grounds and the lanai view were gorgeous and old time Hawaiian, with lava walls everywhere. Very laid back and quiet rural area, easy walk to the beach. The first day there we saw a turtle and a small eel hanging out in the tidepools. Comfortable bed and nice unit, beautiful large shower with stone floor. Well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed the pool. No issues getting into the unit. Great place to get away from it all.'

'We had a comfortable stay. Could have used a bigger clearer sign at entrance - but house was right there and as it was in the picture. Plenty of room to park multiple cars and plenty of space inside. We were a little concerned about no AC but temp went down to 65 at night and was quite comfortable. Cannot drink from the tap - this was a surprise (was it noted on listing?) but host provided bottled water so it was not an issue - just a surprise. We were disappointed that we did not meet the dogs!...

'Our stay at this property was amazing. We loved the condo. The ocean views were amazing, and the home felt very comfortable, clean, and relaxing. We loved that it is remote, and out of the tourist core. The complex is relatively quiet and very peaceful. We are already hoping to stay again.'

'Checkin very friendly, the park is super clean, parking easy. Apartment good with lot of extra's like dishwasher, washing machine, coffee etc. Close to the black beach. Although there is not much around the location (20-30min drive for a supermarket), thats not the worst. On the big island everything takes time to drive, so for a relaxing place, this hotel is recommended.'
