'The owner was very lovely and polite, he prep matcha tea for welcoming us also offering fresh bread making in the morning for our breakfast but my family were very tired from a long day travelling and activities we did in the area, we just want to sleep in so we had to miss out on that. House was clean. The bath was the highlight for us. Just the tap in both toilets a bit hard to operate so we had to wash our hands in the bathroom instead.'

'The area was very quiet which was nice but did mean it was a bit of a walk to the nearest shop. The check-in process was all automated and quite straightforward but be aware that the emails are sent in Japanese and I had to pop these in a translation app. The building is small but the room was a generous size. The place is slightly dated but very clean. '

The property is near several convenience stores and was walking distance to the train station as well as some major sight seeing locations. 'Super location and quiet room with real Japanese style bed on floor. Practical for trips into town or further since bus stops are right beside the building. Locally within walking distance there are ramen restaurants also temples and the Philosophers path. Suited me perfectly as I don't spend much time in hotel I like to be out taking photos. If I visit Kyoto again I would love to stay here again.'

'***BED BUGS*** The location was excellent. The amenities were minimal - there wasn't a single hook on the walls for towels or clothing. The main issue was that we woke up with BED BUG BITES! We even saw them moving and crawling on the walls in the morning. We got out of there FAST and asked for a refund for remaining nights.'

'This was a unique property to stay at for our Japan trip. The property was beautiful and was definitely an experience I recommend. Staff was so helpful when first arriving. They try their best to explain things, especially with a language barrier for myself. The hospitality was exceptional. Would recommend anyone to stay here. A little far of a walk from the main station with luggage so maybe a take a taxi. And have them take you to the check-in area instead of the property itself.'

"Every detail was curated, nothing was left unplanned both in the bedrooms and in the common areas. Location was perfect, quiet and well connected to the metro and main Kyoto train station. The Onsen facility was a nice moment in the evening to relax and experience a traditional ritual. Breakfast was also very good and the staff available to help with any query. Only note the laundry area was frequently busy plan ahead if you need to wash your clothes. Overall, highly recommended!"
