'Loved how genuinely hospitable and real this lodging felt! Not to mention the warm and welcoming owner, the spectacular view of Whiteface mountain (so close that I felt that I could reach out and touch it), the majestic music on arrival, and the oodles of personality in every inch of it.......the likes of which is so missing in the cookie-cutter lodgings that we are so accustomed to! Very nicely refurbished rooms to mid-century style. The beds were a bit too soft for our liking, but still verry comfortable.

'The owner was extremely kind and helpful and he was interested in the countries the guests were from. The room was clean and well-kept, the beds comfortable , the decor rustic and authentic. The breakfast was limited (eg no bagels or bread) but a muffin or muesli-bar and a good cup of coffee from the lobby were enough to get started.'

'This is truly the diamond in the rough, what a find! We stayed in the Jenny suite and it was charming. We ate dinner in the main room and it was five star all the way this place is a culinary gemstone! Make sure you make a reservation early as the dining room fills up quickly. We will definitely be back to the stagecoach on our next trip to lake placid. '

Say the lake house rooms though and they are dark and feel dated. I’d definitely stay in the main building. Paddle boards were an excellent amenity. '
