Vind je ideale hotel in New Virginia

'We booked here because it was well rated. Sadly our experience was not. When we arrived, the door to the lobby was locked even though it was within the hours they stated they would be open. We called the number posted on the door and got a generic voicemail that never stated the name of the hotel or anything. We left a message and sat in the parking lot for 30 minutes. Eventually, someone did appear, stating they weren’t aware the door was locked and didn’t know what was going on with the phones...

'It was very clean and nice view of the lake and amphitheater. No matter how much air freshener they used, I could smell the smoke from the casino. The walls were very thin.'

'I try to be not too critical of Super 8s, because you get what you pay for. However, the property is tucked in behind a Quality Inn and is cumbersome to access, with views of the Quality Inn just a few feet away. Okay. There is no elevator, and therefore, no luggage carts. The luggage rack in my room was broken. The desk chair back was failing, and the decor throughout was depressing. Clean, yes — that’s good, but dingy, also yes. Breakfast was continental — lots of carbs, no protein,...

'The carpet was a little stained bathroom cracks on all the walls and ceiling. Shower leaked. Bed was rock hard sheets were scratchy. Breakfast was horrible. They had day old bread and muffins over cooked hard biscuits zero to no fruit, no yogurt and no milk for the cereal. What is the point of having a continental breakfast? If there's nothing you can actually eat. Oh, and the decaf coffee had grounds and lumps in it. 2 other guest refused to drink it and warned me of it.'

'Park right outside your room door! Clean. Quiet. Good communication at check in. Liked spacious room with micro, mini fridge, large TV, comfortable bed and plenty of pillows.'

'Good breakfast selections, room was clean and staff very responsive. Shortcomings were rooms' appliance conditions. Staff responded well to facts that the fan/light unit in bathroom sounded like a jet idling for takeoff by switiching us to another room, where the TV didn't work and the AC unit also failed to work even when staff attempted to rectify situations. Also very responsive in trying to do so and then switching us to a third room where all shortcomings of previous two rooms did work.'

'Grandkids loved the indoor pool and jacuzzi (also there's a sauna), and game room. I appreciated the 2 sinks in the room, with one being outside the bathroom. With 4 of us it was so much easier getting ready. Good breakfast, outdoor eating areas and random places to relax and socialize throughout the hotel.'

'The hotel was under construction and the fitness room and spa were closed and we were not informed and no discount was offered. There were two hangers for three people, the hair dryer was broken, a lamp was out, the world cup TV channel was terrible, the breakfast was substandard.'

'While there are some updates around the property, some of the carpet looks worn down. Also the breakfast was okay but I have stayed in nicer hotels in bigger cities for the same amount per night.'

'I have spend two night at this hotel. Service was good, friendly personnel. The hotel is quite old and can use some renovation. Beds are OK but the bathroom is old. Heating system makes a lot of noise and you can't turn it off. Fitness center has old equipment and it was damaged. The steakhouse is great and cozy. Good food for a good price. Breakfast is also great. Overall a good stay, probably one of the better hotels close to DSM airport. Very close to the interstate!'
