'Near the volcano, which is why we picked it. Reasonable price, near the village and the volcano house. The room was large and fairly clean. The frogs kept us awake, but we got used to them. 'Pros: This is our first time staying at a lodge like this, so close to nature, just like camping. You will hear coqui frog whole night & seeing them jumping next to your door step. 'We had a wonderful stay at the Volcano Forest Inn. The large room, access to the full kitchen/common area, the quiet location surrounded by the rainforest, and the private deck allowed us to enjoy a relaxing visit. 'The accommodations were terrific, a great value in superb location for visiting Volcanoes National Park and Hilo area. Spacious, comfortable beds. Host was very accommodating by offering to deliver to-go breakfasts as we had an early morning flight. I recommend the Lanikai Brewing Co for dinner if you stay here- the best food we ate in Hawaii for adults and kids- also great beer and excellent cocktail lists with low-key come as you are feel (i.e. sweatpants).'
