'We enjoyed our stay in Hilo. The apartment is the ground floor of Ingrid's family home, and has its own separate entrance. Having been to Hilo before, we didn't feel we needed a fancy tourist vacation destination lodging location, for a place to stay. 'This little place is just yards away from the waves crashing into the lava cliffs and the ocean breeze keeps the air moving. The living space was very clean and comfortable. It is unique accommodations as the toilet and shower are in a detached bath house. The neighborhood is very quiet and lovely. 'Location and ocean view was FANTASTIC. While it's not a 5-star/ $1000 per night hotel, it has everything you would need/ expect from an excellent beach house. We were only a group of 2, but the house easily could accommodate 6 people. Great jumping off point to see sites on this side of the island (Hilo, Volcano, towns that existed a few years ago but then were taken by lava).
