'Kelly was a wonderful host. Since she had cancellations while we were there (Jan 2026) she upgraded us to the master with ensuite. There are 3 bedrooms in total. Everything was spotlessly clean and there were all kinds of snacks and coffee, tea, milk available. Kelly made lovely breakfast for us each morning and was so accommodating. 'Pros: This is our first time staying at a lodge like this, so close to nature, just like camping. You will hear coqui frog whole night & seeing them jumping next to your door step. Animals free roaming, peacocks, ducks, chicken. Kids loved it. Cons: There is barely any light at night in the Property…so if you come back late, it’s a bit challenging to find your cabin.'

'Me and my daughter had a very good experience at the Volcano Forest Inn. It is literally at 5 minute drive of the entrance of the Volcano National Park. Which allow us to visit the volcano easily. The rooms was pretty big, confortable and clean. The communication with the owner and our arrival was easy. We were warned by email that the weather could be chilly because of the rain forest. 'Not only was our room incredible, but the entire staff, the on-site restaurant, and the charming little gift shop were all wonderful. We stayed in the "HOKULANI" room. It had a beautiful balcony where we could watch the birds perched in the ‘Ohi‘a Lehua trees and listen to them sing. Warming up by the fireplace in the room allowed us to truly relax.
