Angelina 28 was everything we expected. This is a fourteen unit, apartment building offering quiet privacy by the beach. Easy access is through a 24 hour guarded gate by the main 307 highway, for which you will likely need a rental car. Stock up with groceries at the supermercado in Puerto Morelos on your way.
Manuel and Abby were our communitive, congenial hosts and promptly settled us in. They were friendly and helpful during our whole visit and we couldn't have asked for nicer hosts. Cleaning and maintenance staff also did a great job. Excellent room service was every few days and common areas were cleaned daily.
Our quiet, spacious, two bedroom, two bathroom unit (101) was tastefully decorated, overlooking the pool and beach. Potable water is supplied.
Angelina 28 on Playa Del Secreto is far from the madding crowd. Turning either south or north, after passing a few short rocky areas, we were able to walk for miles on the beautiful sandy beach - no vendors and no crowds. Some days, we were able to swim in the warm ocean and other days the surf was high, but still made for a lovely stroll along the waters edge.
As mentioned, you will need a car as there are no restaurants or stores nearby; this is not an all inclusive resort! We enjoyed shopping for groceries, returning to barbeque by the pool or prepare a meal in our unit. Puerto Morelos is an easy 15 minute drive to the north.
