'We went down to Tamarindo for my husband's birthday with a group of 9 couples - 18 people total. Each room was spacious, comfortable and had it own private bath and airconditioning. A stunning view from the back terrace and a fabulous lounge area with salt water pool and covered seating. The concierge, cooks, bartender and driver services were great and very accommodating. 'We came to Tamarindo for a wedding, but didn’t want to stay at the hotel. There were 7 adults in our group who wanted something more private so we chose Hacienda del Pacifico. Pros: Each bedroom had its own bathroom. Courtyard area with pool and outdoor kitchen was AMAZING. Cleaning service came on certain days. Property felt safe and secure. Check in/out was very easy. Host was very responsive and helpful. Access to the beach was VERY convenient. House provided beach chairs, towels, ice...

'We had a great stay. But... We did encounter scorpions, in the house, multiple times. Pretty scary for us. Apparently this might not be a big deal in Costa Rica. But I think it's good to know before going. We also had a bunch of biting ants that were streaming into the house through a hole in the wall one night. Yikes!!! And there was a very nasty ground bee nest by the pool. We managed through all of this but it was as bit of a surprise and I might have liked to know before going...'

'The hammocks were so relaxing with all the nature sounds and birds singing. There were even howler monkeys and scarlett macaws in the yard. The walk to the beach was absolutely gorgeous and the beach was even more stunning. This was all around such a great stay. Can’t say enough nice things.'

'The house is modern, bright, airy and fully equipped with all amenities. Loved the morning visits by the resident monkeys. Perfect location close to private beach which has spectacular sunsets each night. Beach club is awesome and Playa Avallena is such a great, beautiful beach for surfing and boogie boarding. 'The property was fantastic. The house staff were extremely pleasant, helpful and cheerful everyday. Especially to our 9 grandchildren under 12 .
