'We arrived a little bit earlier then check-in time, but the people were very welcoming and told us the room was ready so we could go there immediately .
The rooms were very spacious and with a large bathroom. This was something we had not yet experienced in Japan.
The hotel si located next to the subway exit and close to some really good restaurants.
We had the choice of 2 restaurants in the morning, 1 Japanese and 1 western style.
The breakfast in both restaurants is plate service, so no...

'Kyoto Brighton is een prachtig hotel voor een verblijf in Kyoto. Het ligt niet echt centraal maar door hun privé (gratis)ter beschikking gestelde taxi bus die elk kwartier reed van en naar metro station is dit geen probleem. Het hotel had het beste ontbijt dat wij tijdens onze Japan reis hebben gehad. Voor wat betreft westers dan. Er werd continue bijgevuld yoghurt, fruit, wafels, broodjes. De kamers zijn groot en schoon. Alleen hadden wij het idee dat de biertjes in de koelkast voor ons waren...

"Alles wat we nodig hadden was aanwezig.
De kamer was keurig, doch stoffig op onderstel van de tafel en op tafel bij waterkoker.
Keurig personeel en behulpzaam.

Er is een rokers kamer op de begane grond aanwezig. Deze deur zat vlak bij onze kamer en als iemand daar net gerookt had, hing de geur in de hal voor onze deur. Bij binnenkomst roken we de nicotine geur regelmatig. Zeker niet prettig als astma patiënt. En meeroken voor kind.

Alleen hadden wij het idee dat de biertjes in de koelkast voor ons waren dus hebben we de eerste dag lekker genoten van een biertje allebei en de volgende dag hebben we er eentje gedeeld. Pas bij het afrekenen bleek dat dit dus de minibar was. Het stond ons inziens nergens aangegeven. Maar okay ze waren lekker dus betaal je ervoor bij het uit checken. "
"De bedden waren erg hard. Het ene bed lag prima de andere had een slaapbank eronder en was daardoor erg hard. Klagen bij de receptie hielp helaas niet. De ligging van het hotel was prima."
"Centraal gelegen verblijf. Vlakbij Nishi markt en de drukte van Gion. Schone kamers en comfortabel bedden. Wij hadden double beds, waardoor het bed ook groot was. Goede douches en een ruim bad. Gastvrij en vriendelijk ontvangen. Amenities wederom gratis beschikbaar bij de receptie. Elke dag kreeg je gratis handboeken, deze werden voor de deur neergelegd als je ‘niet storen’ op je deur had. Half uurtje lopen vanaf Kyoto station en meerdere bus haltes vlakbij het hotel. Klein half uurtje lopen van Yasaka Shrine. Erg geschikt voor een kort verblijf in Kyoto omdat je zo centraal zit. Je zit wel midden in de drukte van het centrum en daardoor kan er soms wat geluiden vanaf de straat komen (motoren etc) "

"Prima hotel, ze hebben een systeem dat jezelf water moet ophalen , je ontvangt dan elke dag een pasje op je kamer diende bij de receptie kan inwisselen voor water, ik vind dat veel gedoe en heb het liever gewoon standaard op de kamer , ze vergaten ook 4 keer om de kaart op de kamer achter te laten, de receptie maakte hiervan geen probleem. Prima hotel dichtbij metro! Zou weer boeken , ontbijt vond ik te prijzig en daarom niet erbij genomen , voldoende bakkerijen in de omgeving! En supermarkt op 500 meter"
