'Upgrade to room 10 was excellent but restaurant staff were grumpy and not lgbt friendly. The person who checked me in who has an office in the stairwell was the opposite and as a regular customer and guest was approachable, lgbt friendly and use tge correct pronouns to address myself. Room was massive, comfortable and in the 17 th century part of the former Manor House with a courtyard view '

'It's a stunning location right on the beach, and it's a short walk over the headland or round the bay, to Robin Hood's Bay. Wonderful staff. Excellent breakfast. Clean room. Super cafe bar. Relaxing seaside decor It's a gem. '

'Great check in, spotless and tidy facilities. The lounge is gorgeous, especially in the evening with the candles and fire. Fully functional WiFi, central heating and hot showers. Glad to see such a well run YHA!'
