'Our stay was amazing. We were able to check in early as I arrived at 11am and check in was not until 3 but once they found out we drove all night from Florida they checked to see if a room was ready and let us check in. Room was very spacious and being able to cook for my son in law was a huge plus! The best part was being able to do a fast super early am check out when we left.
We will definitely be back

'I'm doing this review solely to give the staff at this facility the credit they deserve. From the amazing front desk woman with the glasses, to the young African American staff kid, everyone was just so inviting and helpful. We traveled from Jersey and spent most of the week on the Ocean Front (Marriot Sheraton 4 points), but we wanted to slow things down a bit for the last day of our trip and we're glad we did. Tupalo Honey Chicken Restaurant was amazing and the hotel grounds were so clean!...

'It was an excellent place to stay. The staff was phenomenal. We did not have any issues at all. Their elevator was down, but they accommodated the residence extremely well. They had a staff member stay in the elevator and help residence to get to their floors. They did a great job in a really difficult situation. The view from the hotel is amazing The boardwalk outside is incredible. You just can’t get a better place to stay!'

'I’ve stayed at a few properties on Virginia Beach over the years and none I’d go back to. However, The Capes is on my list of hotels I’d rebook. The rooms were clean; the property was clean. The indoor pool was warm and seemed pretty clean. They offer an on-site restaurant. I did not try this time around so I can’t speak to the food there. They also offer ample parking that is easily accessible. I guess if I were to offer one thing I’d like to see, it’d be a soap rack in the shower or towel rack...

'One of the staff stopped and asked me very rudely if I even rented a room there as I walked through the pool gate with a card in my hand. In the future you could apologize at least for being mistaken rather than walking off with your nose in the air'

'The free breakfast is simple but good. The pool is awesome too; my son enjoyed it. The room is clean which is amazing. Everybody else wants beach view but to walk a little to go to the beach is something I enjoyed.'

'Indoor pool area was really nice. We had an issue with the couch in our room and they brought us a brand new couch to replace it immediately. Staff were all very friendly and helpful. Some areas still need updating but you can see they are working on it. '

'It was great. They clearly continue to keep the maintenance up on this old motel. The bathroom was in pretty good shape. They had redone the grout in the tub and sink. They need to redo the floors, but it seems like the floor job is next on the list. It was clean. It was quiet. It's close to the ocean. The staff was great. '

'This entire hotel from the time you walk in property is exquisite. We stayed in the 5th floor and our house keeper and his wife take such pride in their floor and guests. It is like family at this hotel and we will never book anywhere else again. You literally never have to leave the property. The restaurant is exceptionally delicious, staff are fabulous and make you feel like you are at home '
