'Gorgeous setting, Welcoming Atmosphere. Innkeeper so hospitable , provided references for resturants. Stunning interiors, The waiter at breakfast was such a joy.Attended to so many sweet details in serving the breakfast.Such a cultured, knowledgeable and friendly conversationalist. I’m wanting to go back for another meal. A darling historical inn. I have referred all my friends.'

'First, the "oceanfront" label is misleading. You cannot see the ocean from this property — and as every beach traveler knows, we pay extra for oceanfront specifically to *see the ocean*. Neither Expedia nor the property's own listings make this clear. They need to be honest about this in their advertising. Second, privacy and security are real concerns. My suite's sliding door opens essentially straight onto the beach with no barrier — I never felt safe leaving it open to hear the waves,...

'Beautiful house in the heart of downtown New Bern. Room was very comfortable and breakfast was delicious.'

'Loved it!'

'Such a beautiful property. My daughter and I used the game room for relaxing. I really enjoyed the breakfast and meeting/talking with the owners. They were very friendly and helpful. I would defiantly choose the inn at oriental anytime visit this area. You can walk the entire town from the location. I walked to the deli, coffee shop, river and the marina. Driving the short distance to New Bern was also a treat. Very cute town.'

'The room was very clean. The hosts went above and beyond to accommodate any needs and make our stay a pleasant experience. A beautiful table was set for breakfast and it did not disappoint. It was delicious! I highly recommend staying in this property.'

'We've been coming to Southport to visit family for 20 years and the Carriage House has always intrigued us but we've never stayed until now. It was absolutely wonderful. Amy was very friendly and knowledgeable and the facilities were amazing. I travel a lot and spend 30-45 days a year in hotels and this was one of my best experiences. I just wished we had more time to just stay at the Carriage House and enjoy it more, but we spent most of our time visiting family.'

'Apartment was clean and had all the essentials. Fenced in back yard for nice for the dog. Close to beaches and other amenities.'
