'Best of Both Worlds Founder's Brook looks like a 1950's motel village but looks are deceiving. The setting is lovely, beautifully maintained grounds with flowering plants and picnic tables. The units are nicely updated and immaculate with AC, TV, mini fridges, microwaves and Keurig coffee makers. It's a very well-run operation with a welcoming staff. 'I liked the property ok. We and another couple we traveled with were not happy with the AC unit location in the ceiling. Either it was too cold with air being thrown down directly upon you while sleeping or if you reset temperature, it shuts off . Disappointed no restaurants in the hotel section. Parking ok …'

'It's a tired property with tired staff. For example, the TVs in the room did not include coverage of the World Cup. You had to go to the lobby if you wanted to watch. Brutal. In this day and age, that's Motel 6. If I had been charged the Motel 6 price, it would have been okay. I wasn't. Much too much for what I received. Not even a free donut for breakfast. C'mon. Go elsewhere!'

'The proximity to Scarborough beach is ideal. Just walk across the street and you’re at the beach. The staff were very friendly and helpful.'

'The inside and outside of the motel looked like you stayed in a very luxe resort, but for a reasonable price. We asked for a smokers room, but we wondered if it really was a smokers room because it smelled very fresh. Very comfy beds and clean, nice blankets. It was great. The only thing that could be upgraded are the towels. They are really tiny. We would stay here again. '

'The front desk manager literally stopped talking to her client to yell at me when asking about early check in. The woman helping me was mortified and admitted she’s seen that behavior before. The shower leaked. The sink wouldn’t drain. The bathroom light switch is in the living area not in the bathroom. Very poor lighting dark and dreary. I reserved a corner room specifically for 2 windows guaranteeing more light and was forced to downgrade because “they were totally booked the night before” and...
