First evening, after Dinner at The Steamer Inn down on the Shanklin Esplanade, we caught the lift back up from the Esplanade and walked to The Fig Tree to experience their Monday Open Mic Night which was good fun and we were given accompaniment instruments to join in the funas well as singing along. 'So glad to have discovered this place- off the main roads. The whole experience was great- staff were lovely, dogs were made welcome too! Like stepping into an Agatha Christie movie, beautiful furnishings of an era in history. The grounds were well maintained and we loved the Monet Garden - with deer resting near the pond, all very magical. Definitely worth an annual visit '
