'Lovely, generous hosts; an interesting and old historic property, a delicious breakfast; comfortable accommodation.'

'Clean neatly kept property on the lake. Hotel has been here since 1843 and looks like a nice place if you come here for the summer. plenty of towels and blankets provided. Bathroom was very clean.. We were very comfortable for a stay on a gorgeous lake.'

'A great find. A beautiful old building and well kept interior with appropriate upgrades in bathroom. Very comfy bed and pillows, quiet and friendly. Fun evening at the restaurant across the street with the locals. Will make it a point to stay here when next in the area! '

'The staff and breakfast were excellent. For areas of improvement, the road sign needs a light to illuminate it at night and the plants around it need to be trimmed to improve visibility. The landscaping on the grounds and on the porch need upkeep and improvement. It would be helpful to add a write up or plaque about the history of the home as you enter.'

'The large house is absolutely beautiful. It is easy to find with my GPS (or directions) and it is surrounded by nature. It is immaculate. It smells good. I slept like a baby. The Innkeeper, Monique, is terrific. It was perfect for me and my 2-night stay. I would absolutely stay there again.'

'I stayed here while my son played in the Cooperstown baseball tournament. David was so helpful and friendly, and treated me like family. 'Pros: Valerie is a kind host, and the property is in one of the most beautiful areas I have ever stayed. Cons: There is one shared bathroom on the first floor. There is no bathroom in the room, or the one next door which I saw when I found out that the dividing door was not locked. The pillows did not have liners in the pillow cases and were stained so we did not use them. The sheets had other people's hair on them, so we didn't use the cover sheets or blankets. 'We came in for the Baseball Hall of Fame Induction Weekend (about 40min away) and stayed at this B&B. The owners are incredibly hospitable, breakfast is great, and the historic home setting is good as well. The drive to Cooperstown is through some gorgeous and serene countryside settings.'

'While the rooms and furnishings are very nice, the bathrooms we not cleanly or updated. The night I stayed there, the power had gone off and there was no air conditioning and the no water. This could be a nice B&B but the outdoors need to be improved. For starters, they could remove the junk water heater from the front porch.'

'Having been born and raised in this area, I wasn't familiar with this location when trying to find a place close to family when coming back to visit. The address said Fort Plain, however it's in town of Danube, outside of St. Johnsville, not even remotely close to FP. Mind the location, as that wasn't a big deal to travel back and forth. 'This apartment in a home near the Masonic Care Home was better than staying in a hotel. The owner met us at the door to see if we needed any help. It was less than a five minute ride to the campus. I will be checking in the future to see if it is available each time I'm in the area. Again more comfortable then a hotel room.'
