'I loved having a private mineral hot water bathtub on my outside deck- there was a screen to ensure privacy but still a view of the trees and forest. It was very soothing-and very enjoyable. We travelled to Hakone from Tokyo on the Romance train (not really romantic so not sure where the name comes from but is a nice train) and took advantage of the luggage delivery system once in Hakone station to allow us to just start or sight seeing day. Hakone is a beautiful area- wish I had stayed for...

'The Fujiya reeks of history and elegance. The rooms are very spacious. The ambiance is sublime. We are so pleased we stayed at this hotel. The staff and quality of service was excellent. The sauna and spa facilities were 1st class. A couple of minor issues - the beds were a touch on the firm side. And the range of choice for breakfast was limited. However, in every other respect, the Fujiya will be a highlight of our time in Japan.'
