'Great B&B! Owner had prompt communication and provided several helpful tips. Loved having an our own private Hale which was outfitted with all the essentials including comfortable King bed. Kitchenette had mini-fridge with freezer. toaster-oven & microwave, coffee & tea in the room plus custom ordered breakfast (egg sandwich, omelette, or waffles) that came with a delicious papaya fruit bowl delivered to the room. We enjoyed being on the edge of town. So quiet!! And, only 10mins to Volcanos Nat...

'Pros: This is our first time staying at a lodge like this, so close to nature, just like camping. You will hear coqui frog whole night & seeing them jumping next to your door step. Animals free roaming, peacocks, ducks, chicken. Kids loved it. Cons: There is barely any light at night in the Property…so if you come back late, it’s a bit challenging to find your cabin.'

'Chris was my host and he has a nice comfortable place. It was like hanging out with a friend. Everything was clean and the house rules were explained and easily understood. Very economical.'

'This was our first time staying at this property and loved it. The view was spectacular. Such a peaceful location just a few miles from downtown. I was a little nervous about there being no AC but it was not a problem at all despite the high temps during the day. The only downside was someone parking in our spot. The situation was eventually remedied. Definitely recommended. Will see if this place is available next time we visit Hilo.'

'We enjoyed our stay at this off-the-beaten path bnb. Hosts were very informative and welcoming. Stay here if you want to fall asleep to the sounds of frogs and birds, shower under the moonlight, and breakfast with the geckos. There’s no A/C but plenty of fans kept us cool. '

The central location on the island allows for east access to everywhere. We will definitely be talking about/recommending the volcano mist cottage to others. '
