'If you like antique hotels this is definitely a great pick! Facing away from city centre towards the river, this hotel is a nice getaway on its own. The room was spacious and large and the bed was comfortable. The furniture, bathtub, and other decorative elements provide a glimpse into colonial styling. The restaurant and wine bar downstairs were exceptional in particular the large selection by the glass or bottle. '

'I was honestly very shocked with this hotel. Most of the reviews that I read were pretty good. We stayed here for one night after visiting our daughter in college and the room smelt awful like it was a smoking room at one time, and though it is not now, it still smelt bad. The toilet bowl was loose on the ground, so if you were sitting on it and maneuvered your body the wrong way, at all it would potentially tip over. The rooms look like they were remodeled, but the smell took away from the work...

The staff is ok, I just didn't like that they insisted on making a copy of my passport and when I asked for the copy back at check-out they told me that they always destroy it at the end of the check-in day, weird situation! 'Stopped here for one night while touring colleges. I made a last minute reservation while on the road and I was delighted that the property was clean and in great, renovated condition. The staff was friendly and helpful. '
