'We checked in at 8:30pm with reservations. Only 1 room left on the 3rd floor and the elevator was broken. Got to the room - tv did not work and the room was dirty and beat up. Donna - on night duty, did everything possible to fix it. She was able to free up another room for us. That room was better, but still very dusty. Lights above the bed were filled with dust.'

'We stopped here on the last night of a cross country drive. The lobby was neat and clean. The staff at the front desk was friendly and helpful, informing us on the in house offerings for dinner and drinks as well as other nearby options. 'The property and the rooms was very clean and neat. But the only problem I have With this Powhatan resort is the late check in. We didn't get checked in until 5:30 in the evening.'

However, the shower rod was sagging so the shower curtain would not stay in place, and the ice machine was near our room and was very noisy, especially when someone wanted ice each morning at 5:30. You should also be aware that they allow pets. We could hear dogs yipping in the hallway and next door.'

'Stupendous and will go back again. The rooms are very spacious with a great view. Staff is very friendly and helpful. The restaurant next door was fantastic with large portions and fantastic food. We did not have time to walk around the town, but drove through and it is extremely charming.'
