'Very welcoming stay, gave us privacy and clear instructions, very clean and good water pressure. The gate and couple made me feel safe and secure while traveling as young woman. Would 100% stay again. Located close to the volcanos and black sand beach.'

'The space is beautiful inside and out, we struggled with the gate lock the first couple of times we used it, it started to loosen up the more we used it. The frogs come alive at night and give you a symphony. If you’re sensitive to noise while sleeping bring ear plugs. We will absolutely stay here again.'

'Wonderful cottage nestled in a rainforest setting, far back from the road. It was clean, comfortable, ample towels and bedding/blankets. Every room had night lights and switches were clearly labeled. Perfect for two couples, matching en-suite bedrooms. And so close to Hawaii Volcanoes NP, made it easy for us to be there early. Sorry we didn't plan a longer stay. '

'A restful, peaceful and private guest cottage outfitted with everything needed and more. Located less than 30 minutes south of Hilo Airport, it is well-situated to enjoy all the offerings of the region, including the active volcano. For us, it served as home base while visiting family. We especially valued the owner's masterful wood carvings that helped give the cottage its uniquely Hawaiian vibe. 'We had a wonderful time staying at Mark's place and visiting the NP. Mark is a great host and was invaluable in alerting us to the latest eruptions. Thanks to him, we were able to witness the eruption on July 9th, which was an amazing 1,200 foot tall fountain of lava. You can really tell that Mark put some thought into the cottage and its amenities. We had everything we needed for our visit. Highly recommended!'
