'My family and I ( husband and three grandkids) had a wonderful stay at Barcelo Maya and it surpassed all our expectations! We stayed in the Tropical area and all facilities were easy to access to by pathways or by shuttle. Pools are beautiful and each one has its own all inclusive bar. The kids area is right in the middle by the pools so it easy to watch your kids from the pools. 'Overall, our stay was disappointing. When we arrived, our room wasn't ready even though we were already in the middle of check-in. We were then downgraded from a first-floor room to a third-floor room that was much farther away. Traveling with four young kids, who were exhausted and ready to get settled and enjoy the resort, made this especially frustrating. The air conditioning in our room barely worked.
