'Wir hatten einen wunderbaren Aufenthalt im Genji Kyoto. Alles war perfekt, vom Anfang bis zum Ende. Die Location ist perfekt: sehr ruhig, in der Nähe des Flusses, und viele Sehenswürdigkeiten sind auch zu Fuß erreichbar. Die Innenarchitektur des Hotels ist atemberaubend. Wir würden dieses wunderschöne Hotel immer wieder bei unserem Besuchen in Kyoto buchen!'

'Nice clean rooms in a convenient neighborhood (subway station is just across the bridge, fresco supermarket, 7-11 and FamilyMart nearby). Kyoto Station is a little far, so you may need a taxi to/from, especially with luggage. Gion district and pontocho alley also within walking distance. Staff is friendly and helpful. I’d say the only improvements would be more laundry machines (there’s basically 6 washers and 6 dryers for the entire place) or have rooms with machines. Would definitely...

'Received an unexpected upgrade and describing it as superb is an understatement. This property was quiet and in a safe neighborhood. Easy access to local bus and restaurants was a plus. Highly recommend this property to anyone visiting Kyoto.'

'Don't let the messy reception area fool you. This is a great place to stay in Kyoto! Fantastic proprietor, large clean room and comfortable beds. It's a great choice for a budget hotel and gives you everything you need for your stay.'

'Small but lovely property with friendly receptionist who spoke good English. We stayed in the garden room on the ground floor which was a little dark even during the day, but very nice. Easy walk to the station was a bonus.'

The room design was well planned such that we had a double hand basin area with a bath and shower in a separate room and the toilet in a separate room again. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly. The dining room furniture was made up of beautiful antiques. For breakfast we had the choice of traditional Japanese or Western. 'Every detail was curated, nothing was left unplanned both in the bedrooms and in the common areas. Location was perfect, quiet and well connected to the metro and main Kyoto train station. The Onsen facility was a nice moment in the evening to relax and experience a traditional ritual. Breakfast was also very good and the staff available to help with any query. Only note the laundry area was frequently busy plan ahead if you need to wash your clothes. Overall, highly recommended!'

'De staf verwelkomde ons op een authentieke Japanse stijl en zorgde goed voor ons. Ze spreken goed Engels, en zijn tegelijk nog heel grappig origineel Japans. Het is op slenter afstand van Ginza, de oude binnenstad.'

'This was a great small hotel about 10-15 minute walk from the main station. Location is quite quiet with a few coffee shops nearby. We stayed 3 nights and were able to travel to all the main sights easily. Our room was quite spacious with modern design and furniture. I liked that the bathroom was quite big with a lot of sink storage space. There is free water and coffee machine at the reception.'
