Negatief: Netheid, voorzieningen en staat van de accommodatie en faciliteiten
Reservation was cancelled while I was mid flight from Sarasota to Atlanta. Found out during my layover. Contacted property and the kept hanging up. Contacted Expedia and was on hold off and on the entire layover. Nothing was resolved they promised I would have a comparable hotel in the same area. Landed in Cancun to find out I still did not have a room and we had nowhere to go. Took a $80 taxi to a random resort to charge phone in lobby so I could call Expedia again. I was told the hotel said they would accommodate so we took another taxi to the hotel and couldn't get in. We sat on the sidewalk trying to get in touch with someone. It was getting dark and it took 3 more hours to gain access to the room. We get in and it had a sewage stench immediately. No hot water. The toilet had urine all over it and vomit on the bathroom trash can. We received a email that we had wait in the room until 10 am the next morning so a colleague could come by and photograph our passport and collect a deposit in person or we would be locked out. I asked who would be stopping by and received no response. We didn't have any food, water or toiletries because it was too late to get anything safely in the area after waiting 4 hours to check in. Had to wash all of the dishes and utensils. We had to boil water to shower because there was no hot water. The nightstand has white powder residue on top and inside the drawer. The a/c unit looked like something out of a 90's horror movie and was on the balcony.
