'Highland Cottage is a great local stay in Lake Placid. Yes, the bed is up in the loft and you can’t stand up, but that was no issue for us. We loved the place and will be back.'

The hosts were good communicators and went above and beyond, offering to do things that they wouldn't be required to do, like early check in. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies. The house was pristine and the decor was welcoming and modern - think fluffy towels, brightly colored plates and mugs, cozy comfortable bedding, and plenty of room to unpack. 'We stayed at the”Blackhaus” January 19-23. The house was perfect for our 3 teenage boys and my wife and I. It is a bit off the road which offers serenity and peace. The house is well appointed and met all of our needs. It is located just about 8 minutes from whiteface ski resort and about 22 minutes to lake placid. I Will definitely stay here again. '

'This is a tiny bare bones cabin. Hardly room for a couple. No stove or place to cook. There was microwave and sink. The bed was large but mattress sagged in middle. The drawers were hard to open and close. No one on premises to greet you; access entirely on internet, but internet and phone connection spotty. We stayed in the Norway cabin which was so cute and super clean. The cabin was equipped with everything you need... even a Keurig coffee machine! We especially enjoyed the fireplace.
