"A comfy stay with a few communication problems"
Overall the hotel represents good value for money. The beds are comfortable and the room and facilities were very adequate and clean. Only 2 downsides were: Night staff were very difficult to communicate with, as their knowledge of English was very limited. This was very evident, when the toilet got blocked on our first night! It took a lot of explaining and hand signals to make them understand the problem, which then was very promptly attended to.
Day staff had a much better command of English. All were very keen to help.
Breakfeast was of a good variety of available goodies, so, even as westerner, I could not complain about choice and indeed did enjoy breakfeast.
Having had diner, with my wife, 3 times in the hotel's restaurant I again found communicating in English a bit of a problem. Also service wise it left a bit to be desired. For instance, my wife got her meal first, instead of simultaneously with me, as used to in other restaurants. With one diner it was so bad, that my wife had finished her meal, 8 minutes, before I received mine, and then only after trying to complain twice! Nothing wrong with the quality, or the quantity of the meals, though. And the price was also quite reasonable.
Other plusses: Walking distance to the nearest subway station (about 12 minutes walk). A substantial shopping centre, about the same distance, with restaurants, MacDonalds and Burger King, Also a nearby Chinese produce market, in one of the back streets. and numerous street stalls.
