'The property was very nice, cozy and clean, the location was about 2-3 blocks south of what Vrbo said but it was still in a great location for our trip. breakfast every morning smelled great, unfortunately we were unable to enjoy it due to our schedule. 'My daughter and I stayed at Summit Street Inn for a weekend of college touring and getting to know Winston Salem. This inn is beautiful and clean, conveniently located at the “end” of downtown. We felt safe and walked to dinner and other outings. The home is well maintained with a mix of old (original creeky floors) and new (bathrooms) and lovely gardens! We will be back!'

'This is a converted bed and breakfast from a 1917 Tudor style large home. Polly, the manager, was most gracious and engaging and oversaw a nightly happy hour. My room was quite spacious and tastefully decorated. I didn’t get a chance to have breakfast due to business commitments but I would definitely stay here again.'

Major issues: Chained dog barked all night, the washing machine didn’t work, had to call to find the linens which were stored in a file cabinet in a bedroom, showed up during check in time and cleaning staff was still there, hardly any dishes on site so forget about cooking a meal there. "The hotel is dated and dark and needs upkeep. I paid for a king-size room, but the internet connection didn't work there, so I had to be moved to a double, which was just as dark, with torn carpet and broken lampshades. The internet connection did work there, but the TV stopped working after a while. The following day, I was offered to move to other rooms, each with different problems of their own: loud air conditioning, and no internet connection again (even though it was an "upgrade"). I didn't feel comfortable or safe, so I moved to a different accommodation after the first night. The staff was very friendly and tried their best to help, but I didn't feel comfortable. I didn't feel it was the right place for a solo traveller like me."
