'The Kamaka Cottage is in a great location, close to the National Park so when the volcano goes off you are right there. Host were great wasn’t communicate with. Cottage was clean and cozy. The best part was the doors that opened up into the forest. You could smell the fragrance of the forest , hear the birds singing and the rain coming down. We will definitely return in the future. '

'This place is tropical magic and serene surroundings. Equipped kitchen and some condiments on shelf. French press coffee. Scenic views and utterly fantastic night sounds! Full compliment of dishes and there was an outside bbq.. washer and dryer great and we hung towels outdoors. The entrance from Hwy 11 to property is a bit tricky but one catches on quickly. David and Wendy super excellent hosts!'

'We were looking for a place to stay for the night outside of Hilo while exploring that side of the island. This little cottage is clean, spacious and directly across the road from a beautiful, secluded black sand beach. It was magical! We would absolutely stay here again and enjoy it for a longer stay. 'We loved this property and would stay here again! It was just as described. It's in a quiet residential area and is a perfect getaway spot with good privacy. It has lots of windows (especially the large ones in the bedroom), that look out on the lush rainforest. We loved hearing the frogs at night! The bed was extremely comfortable.
