Peacefully nestled in the woods of beautiful Alpine County, enjoy being away from it all while also just minutes from some of California’s most beautiful remote trails, lakes, rivers, and mountains. The cabin is the perfect home base for year-round access to fishing, hiking, skiing, biking, boating, and snow activities. We’re just a five-minute drive from historic downtown Markleeville, where you can visit our favorite brewery, try out the local restaurants, or go fly fishing on the East Carson River. We’re two miles from Grover Hot Springs State Park and fifteen minutes from Hope Valley. In the winter, set out for cross-country skiing, show-shoeing, or snowmobiling, or hit the slopes at Kirkwood and Heavenly, all within 30 minutes of the cabin. Just a few minutes further down the road, visit Gardnerville, NV, and South Lake Tahoe, both about 40 minutes away, to take in more of the best restaurants, casinos, shopping, attractions, and fun our area offers.
If you need an additional sleeping space, there is an inflatable air mattress in the master bedroom closet. If you need more wood for the wood-burning stove, you’ll find half a cord in the garage.
