De Uptowner (veilig en beveiligd)

House werd oorspronkelijk gebouwd in 1902 en verder beschreven:
- 5 kingsize bedden (een in elke slaapkamer)
- Een queensize slaapbank
- Kabel-tv in elke slaapkamer
- Draadloos internet door het hele huis

Dit huis is opgezet om in te wandelen en te genieten. Het is opgezet voor korte termijn verhuur en is ideaal voor reizende gezinnen of groepen vrienden. Het pand is ongeveer 3000 s. f. met 5 slaapkamers en 2 badkamers, een eigen binnenplaats aan de achterkant en een veranda aan de voorzijde om te ontspannen. Je voelt je alsof je een deel bent van New Orleans terwijl je in deze eeuwwisseling thuis bent. Van de 5 slaapkamers is een van de slaapkamers beneden gelegen, met de andere 4 slaapkamers op de bovenverdieping.

Veiligheid en parkeren
Het huis is gelegen in een zeer veilige buurt genaamd Uptown. De straat is erg breed (breder dan normaal) en ligt aan de overkant van een basisschool, dus er is voldoende parkeergelegenheid en goede verlichting 's nachts. Dit huis is ideaal voor groepen vrouwen en gezinnen die op zoek zijn naar een veilige en handige plek om te verblijven tijdens een bezoek aan New Orleans.

Loopafstand
Het huis ligt op loopafstand van de beroemde St. Charles Street Car line, waarmee je overal in de stad kunt komen - inclusief het centrum en de Franse wijk. Hoewel het sneller is naar Uber, raad ik je ten zeerste aan de straatauto minstens een keer te nemen terwijl je in de stad bent. Het huis is ook op loopafstand van koffie en begneits (hoek van St. Charles en Milaan), evenals op loopafstand van vele eetgelegenheden en drankgelegenheden langs de Freret Corridor.
- 5-7 minuten lopen naar St. Charles Street Car Line

Really Excellent - 1 Suggestion

The host was very accommodating and super responsive. The house was spacious, the beds were really comfortable, the neighborhood was safe. The interior was clean, just a little rough around the edges, but that was totally okay for us. One suggestion would be to get the doorknobs professionally repaired. Other guests had left notes about the same issue and lucky we found a screwdriver in the one drawer, we had to fix several different knobs multiple times. Someone got stuck in the bathroom for about 15-20 mins the one night, that was not fun for her. Other than that one suggestion everything else was really great.

Christmas in NOLA

Nice older home with a fun layout in a real New Orleans neighborhood. This was perfect for our group of 7. Spacicious bedrooms, living room and dining room. Nice functional kitchen with washer/dryer. Comfortable king bebeds. Comfortable furniture.

Suited our needs

Ours was a party of 7. We stayed comfortably in this house and enjoyed the quiet of the neighborhood. It was a good base for Tulane graduation and walking to eateries on Feret street. This is not a touristy area so you will Uber to the French quarter and to Tulane. Each room had a King size bed. The house has 2 bathrooms, one on each floor. Each room has a tv. The house has a lot of charm….hardwood floors, tall ceilings, New Orleans decor. The sleeper sofa has been replaced so there is not one that opens up. Bring your own bath soap and shampoo. The place was clean.

Great spot!

Nice, quiet location. Across the street from a school. Short walk from some bars, restaurants, grocery, cafes. Check out The Library bar on Prytania. Had 6 adults in our group and the house was spacious. Host was friendly and communicative. Downsides: door knobs were funky (someone got stuck in bathroom once) and the beds had metal chains as decor, which personally i found if i flipped over it rattled and hit the headboard. Overall we would stay again.

First off the communication with the host was top notch! The property was huge, it was several of us and no one felt on top of each other. The home was clean and the beds are so comfortable. I thought we would have an issue due to there only being two bathrooms and my girls (grown women), hog the bathrooms, but this was not an issue due to there being several mirrors around the house they could hop in front of an do their make-up. The kitchen has all the cookware you could need to cook a meal, however we ate out or ordered in. Overall a great stay for large groups and small ones for that matter.

Overall the Stay wasn't bad but the Home was infested with Rats All the Door Knobs was broken we went ahead and repaired all the Door Knobs because My Uncle was stuck in The Bathroom for hours The wooden floors are broken at the Front Entrance.The Upper Room Blind wouldn't Release so I and My Husband slept Exposed to the Outside. The Home looked Different on the Website We had a Great Time

Great location, clean house

We had a wonderful stay here. The location is very good, it's quiet and there's plenty of parking. The house was clean, the hvac worked well and the beds were comfy. There was plenty of hot water. The kitchen had the basic stuff which worked for us. We only ate breakfast here. The only drawbacks were the lack of friendly lighting in the living room, which we solved using a bedroom lamp. The door knobs fall off and some of the doors don't stay closed. It's an old house and it shows. But we were comfortable here and every one had their own bedroom, which is why it deserves all 5 stars.

Great Property for Large Groups

This is a great house and my family very much enjoyed staying there. You've got a downstairs bedroom if you have anyone in the group that has trouble with stairs which is great when needed. The neighborhood is dark at night but we felt safe and loved the proximity to everything we wanted to see and do. My only feedback is that the floors in the house were very dusty when we arrived - while not a big issue they should be very clean. I'm sure it will be next time. Overall, we will absolutely stay here again.

Perfect for a Large Group in NOLA

If you are coming with a large group for a short stay in NOLA this is the place to be - King Beds for everyone! Only a couple of issues the host remedied right away and with minimal interference with our group.

Great property in an excellent location. You are in walking distance to many shops, restaurants and the streetcars. Neighborhood is safe and there is ample street parking. The property manager was easy to get in touch with and quickly responded to our needs.

Incredible

Absolutely loved our stay here. Me and a group of friends meet up in New Orleans for the weekend and we so happy with the house. The house was so spacious and all the beds were very big and comfortable. Our weekend was a huge success and so much fun in large part due to this wonderful place! Was so close and accessible to the Superdome, Bourbon St & Frenchmen St. 10/10 would recommend to anyone!

Big event weekend

We were in town with our whole family for my oldest daughters graduation and Mother’s Day. There were 5 adults and 1 infant. The house was very spacious and we were thrilled to know they even had a pack n play for the baby so we didn’t have to bring one on the plane. The location is great, easy to find and close to everything by Uber or trolley. The house is very old but beautiful historic architecture. The only issues were no privacy for the bedroom downstairs, the pocket doors didn’t work. My husband is unable to do stairs so that was a bit of a bummer. The tv in the living room is hung way too high above the fireplace but thank goodness we didn’t have too much time for tv. The backyard did have some trash on the ground from previous guests and wasn’t cleaned up very well. Overall this was a great property and we were all very pleased with everything it had for our stay.
