'This worked out well for me. I was in town for a 3-day convention at the GRB. The total cost here was about what 1 night cost downtown and I avoided the $45/day parking. I used the nearby Leeland/Third Ward MetroRail station which is 2 stops from the GRB. There is a concrete slab from a torn down building that I used to park next to the station. 'I have to be honest and say I thought the area looked a little sketchy at first getting to the property but I was pleasantly surprised as we got closer and I felt safe in the area. It was a nice, convenient drive to the George R. Brown Convention center which was our reason for visiting the area. The only thing that I would say is if you are used to sleeping in a dark room you may want to bring an eye mask as the bedroom is right by the front door and the neighbor's light was shining through...
