'Hands-down the best place we stayed during our 2.5 week trip to Hawaii! Barry and Jim were wonderful hosts, we were greeted by Barry as soon as we arrived! He helped get us settled in and showed us around the cabin. The cabin comes stocked with breakfast items, coffee, and fresh fruits! It is located close to Volcanos National Park, so it was perfect for my husband and I since we love hiking! The cabin was spotless and the bed was very comfortable! 'If you are a backcountry camper, this is for you! The hut is situated in primitive setting of rain forest. You can imagine a big tent but in wood sitting in the woods. I like the nature surrounding and the art deco. However, lack of electricity and a modern bathroom is a big downside. The host is friendly, responsive, and helpful. However, descriptions of the property and instructions to the property aren't sufficiently clear.'

'We stayed here at Beach Road Hale for my brothers wedding and it was the perfect spot for myself and three others. We weren’t in the house much, we would leave early in the morning and come back late at night and we couldn’t have found a better place. Highly recommend if you are running around the island and just need a place to rest your head!1'

'Impossible to beat the proximity to Volcanos NP. The price point is fantastic relative to similar properties. The rooms were clean and well stocked with anything you might need. Welcome treat was a great touch. The property itself was cool and definitely decorated in a unique, cool manner. But what made this place excellent were the hosts, Joy and John, who clearly want your stay to be great. And ours was.'

'This place is awesome. We got in late, and Alan still met us with the gate open and was very welcoming. Property has an ac, but we didn't need it because there's always a nice breeze. You can hear the ocean from the property at night. Alan has thought of the little things like the charging ports on both sides of the bed that have USB, USB C, and a normal outlet. Alan is responsive to all questions, and has plenty of local recommendations.'

'Beautiful home in the middle of the jungle. Listening to the birds singing at night was magical! Two nights was certainly not enough. Super polite and accommodating owners. GPS location is true. Undoubtedly recommend. Strategically locate between Hilo and the Volcanoes park and other big island sightseeing locations! Mahalo and Aloooooha! '

'The location of Jade Oasis is perfect for the Park! It is close enough that you can split your day and have a morning and evening visit. The room was super clean and the bed was great. The homemade muffins were a nice touch. I would come back!'

'Location and ocean view was FANTASTIC. While it's not a 5-star/ $1000 per night hotel, it has everything you would need/ expect from an excellent beach house. We were only a group of 2, but the house easily could accommodate 6 people. Great jumping off point to see sites on this side of the island (Hilo, Volcano, towns that existed a few years ago but then were taken by lava). Don't miss Uncle Robert's on Wednesday night with other locals. It was a great time. Also, the Lava Flow museum in Pahoa...

'Melanie and Steve were such wonderful hosts at this spacious property in Pahoa! Melanie was incredible communicative and responsive, and Steve dropped by periodically to ensure we were doing okay or whether we needed anything. The space itself is very large - it could easily accommodate parents and two kids. It is a quaint, Hawaiian themed place that you can tell has been decorated with great care and shone with personality! It is about a half hour drive to Hilo and an hour to Volcanoes National...
