'What a great cabin to come back to each afternoon after fun-filled days at Elephant Rocks, Johnson Shut-Ins, Shepherd Mountain and Taum Sauk - all within a 35 minute drive. Clean, comfortable, and unexpectedly spacious for our family of four and four-legged friends. But if you don't find it big enough, just step outside to some wonderfully big views on the deck or at the fire pit. We've stayed in quite a few rentals, and this one was definitely at the top of the list. '

'We really enjoyed our stay. Be sure to follow the written instructions. We originally put the address provided into google maps and it took us to a different location. After we backtracked and followed the written directions, we arrived! The driveway was washed out in spots, which made traversing in our car a bit difficult. We took it slow and steady and made it. 'Perfect get away. This place is about as authentic as it gets. The photos are great, but the true rustic feel can only really be grasped in person. The host is very accommodating and has put a lot of thought into his hospitality. There are chickens that supply eggs. We received honey and bread. It is quiet and so relaxing. 'We had a family wedding at Pebble Creek Farm, just 6 miles away from The Roost. Ten of us including aunts and uncles and nieces and nephews had plenty of room at the house to get ready for the wedding, and to gather for snacks and games in the kitchen afterwards. Everything was really clean and comfortable. We would love to come back here and stay for a winery weekend! '
