Weekend away from technology

Beautiful property with great amenities and very clean. We didn't realize that there was no cell phone service or Wi-Fi at the property but it ended up being a really nice weekend unplugged. The property was very comfortable everything was well thought out and it was very clean so you could relax and feel like you were at home.

We enjoyed our stay during June,the land is beautiful! The home is well furnished w/most of what you need! Our only issues was that the hottub was broken,& the river access is not so close! But we still enjoyed the property!

Quick River Trip

Definitely use the owners directions to the property. Google map will take you the wrong way. You must have a truck or SUV at minimum. The drive way to the house is horrendous. If not careful you could damage your vehicle. One of the selling points was the jacuzzi. However, it didn’t work. Very disappointing. Although a somewhat pretty setting, the area is a mess. Looks as though the owner has given up. The fire pit and bench was a decent setting. Bring your own wood. The wood they had was saturated and rotten. We brought our own so that was good. As for the house, it was very comfortable and clean. They do provide all of the essentials. I sure at one point this was a beautiful lot. Definitely needs some TLC.

We really enjoyed our stay. Be sure to follow the written instructions. We originally put the address provided into google maps and it took us to a different location. After we backtracked and followed the written directions, we arrived! The driveway was washed out in spots, which made traversing in our car a bit difficult. We took it slow and steady and made it. If youre going in winter, you will want something with 4 wheel drive. The property was gorgeous. We loved the rocking chairs on the porch, the hammocks, and all of the ourdoor spaces. We were able to enjoy the hot tub the first night, but werent able to get it to turn on the second night. Overall it was just what we needed for a weekend away from our busy suburban lives. Would recommend.

Review for Riverfront Property - HOT TUB, Kayak, Tubing, and Fishing

My two adult daughters and I recently spent a "Girls Only" getaway at this beautiful riverfront property, and it was perfect for our trip! From the moment we arrived, the house was exactly as described. Each of us had our own clean and cozy room, making it feel like we had plenty of space to relax and unwind.The directions provided were spot on, and the drive to the house was easy to navigate despite the dirt and gravel road. My daughter's van handled it just fine, so there were no issues there. One thing I truly appreciated was how accessible the property was for me. I have a new health issue and rely on a walker to get around, but the ranch was perfect for my needs and easy to maneuver.We made the most of our time indoors by assembling a 1000-piece puzzle provided in the house and reading our books. For a bit of adventure, we ventured out to nearby spots like Elephant Rocks and Johnson's Shut-Ins, both of which were only about 30 minutes away.The kitchen was well-equipped, and I cooked meals ahead of time, which made it so easy to enjoy delicious, homemade food without any stress. We did not use the hot tub during our stay (one daughter is pregnant, and I had foot surgery), but it looked inviting, and we were tempted to try it.The highlight, however, was the view of the river from the back room. It was incredibly serene and just added to the calming atmosphere of the entire property. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here and would absolutely stay again.

Family birthday celebration

Very nice. Secluded, such a fun beautiful property. The rain had washed the roads out quite a bit. Thankfully both couples had SUVs that have decent clearance. One of our best stays.

Cozy and private

We had an incredible stay very close to the Mark Twain National Forest! The property was clean, well-maintained, and perfectly situated right on the St. Francis River, making it an ideal spot. We loved hiking and swimming in the nearby shut-ins (it was warm enough in March!). The peacefulness of the area was exactly what we were looking for. If you're looking for a quiet retreat with beautiful surroundings, this is the perfect place. We would definitely stay here again!

A trip to remember!

We had the best mini vacation! It was absolutely beautiful, spacious, secluded, & clean!! Kid friendly/safe, as a mom I felt safe bringing them there! We will definitely be staying again! If your looking for a home away from home this is the property, it’s absolutely homie and way more beautiful in person!

The property was good for us. The kids,10, 9 and 6, had a great time running around. Firepit cookout was great, and the hot tub too. Fishing didn't work out bc of the small opening to the water. But, there was plenty to do in the area.

House and location fine. Being data nerds we went into withdrawal since we had no Wi-Fi or cell service. Driveway is very rugged. Do not bring your sports car. Also, there was a bird nesting in the wreath on the front door. Do a bird check when you are about to leave the house so it doesn’t fly off the nest into the house.

The quiet property was beautiful, clean,and perfect for a relaxing vacation or weekend away. The river was in the backyard, there is multiple areas outside to sit & enjoy the outdoors, there were hammocks,& a firepit. Our favorite part was the hot tub! The home was clean & well kept. Very nice

Me and my family stayed here for 3 nights and had a nice time. We spent our trip going to Johnson Shut ins, elephant rock and taum sauk state parks and we had so much fun. We didn't spend a ton of time at the house, the river looked a little fast flowing and dirty so we didn't make use of the river access, but I loved the house. It was perfect for my family of 5. There was no wifi and the service was kind of bad, which I didn't really care about anyway, I brought a book and there was cable for the kids to watch TV. The house is kind of hard to get to. You have to follow the directions the owner gives you because Google can't figure out how to get there. The gravel road you go down is easy to miss, and it's pretty rough. I wish we had taken my husband's truck instead of my van, but it was ok. I would definitely stay here again.

Weekend Hiking Trip

We saw some awesome rock formations and hiked some great trails using this house as our base. It was great. Plenty of room and quiet. Loved sitting in the hot tub after hiking. The house was clean and had most of the items we needed.

Nice remote house

Stay was very nice. Lots of room for a family, and plenty of hangout areas outside. Not to far from town but still gives you privacy. Be prepared to have no service or WiFi though since it’s so remote. And the directions are accurate, just make sure you pay attention to the road numbers, as they are not in order. And it will be a rough gravel road getting from the main road to the house.
