'Basic townhouse with 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. Can walk to downtown Ferndale. Am very annoyed about the large damage deposit which was charged when I booked months ago and then took nearly 2 weeks to be refunded. Owner says it's up to VRBO. How about a hold at check in?'

'We traveled to Detroit to see the Black Crowes show at the Fillmore and spend a weekend together with family. Our stay at the Lumber Baron's Mansion was phenomenal. The location is excellent for any/all downtown activities and there's plenty of restaurants within easy walking distance. Our host was extremely responsive and provided very clear communication. The interior was beautiful and well equipped. Highly recommended, will stay here again!'

'Really enjoyed our stay in this unique historic but updated building. Very spacious and well appointed, included everything we needed. Mark is an excellent host and quick to respond to any questions. Easy walking to several restaurants and a park. Parking is easy. Felt very safe. Will definitely book again if we get back to the area.'

'Locating the property was pretty easy and there was ample parking. The building itself is a bit older and is showing its age on the outside and inside. You can tell the host is in the process of trying to upgrade some things, but it doesn't impair any functionality. Unless i am booking a resort, where the room is the destination and focus of the trip, I am looking for safety, quiet, and sleep. This delivered all three of those things. 'My wife, myself and 2 adult sons were in town for an afternoon wedding in Detroit. We rented the loft for a family after-party as downtown was a madhouse with the draft in town. 34 of us gathered there from 7-11pm and were more than comfortable. The neighborhood is still in need of rejuvenation but there are few people around and we felt totally safe the entire time. The loft is indeed a gem in the rough. Hope to rent again next time we're in town.'

'This place was terrible. Should never have been listed. Ceilings dirty, previously wet and sagging. Carpet ripped and FILTHY. Horrible patchwork pink paint covering dirt and graffiti in the hallway. Host never responded with entry information. It was all bad. Vrbo did set me up in a hotel for 3 of my 5 nights then I had to find lodging for the rest of my stay Awaiting my refund for that.'

'This apartment was vintage and completely clean. The apartment can include a romantic theme for couples, as well as, a quiet stay for friends or small family. The Host is also a great aid and extremely nice. 👌 '

'Newly renovated was the only positive. Wasn’t upfront about the plugged toilet and tried to mask the smell by locking the door and putting bleach in the bottom of the dishwasher and Lysol. Was promised 2 bathrooms and 4 adults from different families had to use one. A charge of garbage disposal for $50 We were from a different country - where is the garbage going to go. Back to Canada 🇨🇦'

'This property was late minute but it was just what we needed. My daughter wanted to get away for the night and have access to a pool and this stay was perfect! I always overpack cleaning supplies, towels, etc.. but she was fully stocked on everything. Shanae was quick to respond every time I needed her. We really enjoyed our overnight trip. I’m pretty sure we will book again.'

'It was great to bring our dogs with us on our visit to Detroit. The accommodations were Clean and comfortable and we had everything we needed. The neighbors were pleasant and the bar down the street was a nice place to have a drink. We visited Belle Isle and Gross Pointe Park. We found great restaurants that allowed dogs for outside dining. 'I stayed here with my son during a family visit. We loved the kitchen space and the roomy bathroom. The bed was clean and cozy. A couple of grocery stores were nearby. Commercial park is just up the street. We would stay here again. '

'This property was pretty great. I wish I would’ve known about the code ahead of time. We showed up a little late and I don’t know how I didn’t get the code but thankfully they had a security guard there and they helped me figure everything out. Overall, it was a great day. We stayed for my birthday and she didn’t even wanna leave the little apartment because she said it felt so comfy and was cute. We were able to easily walk to Little Caesars Arena for a concert… And the Detroit Tigers baseball...
