'This little cottage was great for a couple - wonderful back yard with great lounges and a perfect place to relax, enjoy the ocean, and watch whales. The only thing that would have made it better would have been a few kitchen supplies like oil or seasonings and maybe foil or wrap. Otherwise the kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils. We would definitely stay again!'

'This home was absolutely idea for our family of 10 (grandparents, parents, and grandchildren). Plenty of room for each family unit to have their own space. The kids (and adults) spent a lot of time in the infinity pool. The home was very well equipped and had everything that we needed to make our stay exceptional. The sunsets from the lanai were amazing! The beach was ideal for boogie boarding and Hapuna beach was a short 5 minute drive as well. Peter was one of the best hosts we have...

'Beautiful home and surroundings. Absolutely peaceful. No traffic, leaf blowers, loud neighbors, barking dogs. Sitting on the porch watching the sunset and the owners cool animals. 'Beautiful layout, comfortable, space to spread out, lanai facing the sunset was perfect, close to my favorite beaches, KTA right around the corner, comunal pool clean and not crowded, interesting history of the house (sad it is so croweded now), cool at night...we are from Alaska so we were never overheated, and many more positives. The couch was not very comfortable but we never turned on the tv and used the dining table and lani to gather together. The vegitation on the property was so local...

'Two families celebrating a couple of high school grads, were delighted by the unique, secluded, log cabin in Hawaii. The log cabin had plenty of room for the 8 of us, with plenty of room for privacy. We were able to prep meals for all, when dining in, with the plentiful appointments, supplies and resources. Driving around the mountainous area, into Honoka’a, or to Waimea, or wherever our daily plans took us, was always an adventure. Doug, the on-site caretaker, was exceptional! I cannot thank...

'We celebrated my 70th birthday with our 4 daughters, sons-in-law, and 18 month old granddaughter. House was perfect for this. Casita-like, in-suite bedrooms provided privacy for everyone. Kitchen accommodated many cooks, the TV den was incredibly comfortable, and the pool was lovely. Sunsets were out of this world! We enjoyed all the Mauna Kea Resort amenities. It was perfect. One suggestion - and I may have missed this - listing should mention baby equipment on site; we ended up renting items...

'A stunning and beautiful situation and location. The hosts Garrett and Kaia were so pleasant to deal with and very helpful. They made suggestions as to sights to see and good places to eat, going so far as to even picking up a meal for us. There was plenty of room at this location for all of our family and each member had their own room. Out grand children greatly enjoyed the animal life both domestic and wild. 'This place was wonderful for our 3-generation family group of 16! Plenty of space for everyone, comfortable beds, well-equipped kitchens, very clean, amazing pool and hot tub, plenty of towels, and SO many extras we didn’t even know about (bikes, scooters, lots of big coolers, TONS of beach gear). Really can’t say enough good things. Our host was super responsive and helpful. When we discovered our blender didn’t work, she had a brand new replacement for us within hours! Oh, and the views were...

'Six women - grandmother, 2 daughters. three 30-something granddaughters spent a week in this spacious open-to- the-world house. Walk out from first floor bedroom onto deck of infinity pool, edge often lined with colorful birds drinking and bathing. Better still, down 8 steps, across a patch of grass onto beach and into the sea, home to local turtles. No problem here for 90 year old with bad knees. Four big bedrooms, tv room makes adequate bedroom for kids or adult who wants to be outside all day...

'We loved the lanai with pool and hot tub! We spent most of our time outside enjoying the weather and watching all the whales! You are not close to a lot of things so if you don’t like driving a lot this could be an issue but for us the view made up for that. We’d definitely stay here again!'

'This was our 15th FLW rental, and it certainly did not disappoint. We enjoyed the remote feel of the location, while we also appreciated that it was within easy driving distance of everything we wanted to do. We also appreciated how well appointed the kitchen was—making it easy for us to cook dinner at “home” every day. We had plenty of space, and enjoyed evenings in the hot tub. We highly recommend this property and hope to be able to return one day.'

'The property was great. Clean. Functional. Comfy. Based on the pictures we were looking for a place a little more away from neighbors and this isn’t that. Neighbors are right close because the property is long and narrow BUT the way the yard is bordered by trees/other plant life you do get privacy. I feel like a picture of the parking area would make the house easier to find so you would know what you are looking for street side.'

'5 stars is not enough! We walked into a clean and beautiful home to the sweet sounds of Hawaiian music. And then we saw the view!!! We watched whales for days from the lanai. We enjoyed finding a variety of dining experiences in Kawaihae. Don’t skip the art gallery located in the lower level of the marketplace. Waimea was perfect for grocery shopping. We went to a farmers market there on Saturday morning and it did not disappoint! Fresh caught fish, yummy bacon, garden fresh fruits and...

However the property manager lacked an attention to detail that detracted from the trip. To begin with, she did not consistently reply to my inquiries within a business day. The check-in instructions were somewhat confusing, and included, for example, an incorrect street name. (It was a "court", not a "circle", a minor difference that matters if you're using a navigation app that...

'The beach on the property was awesome. The guys on the ATV's on the beach need to minimize there trips past the chairs with umbrellas, they went back and forth too much. They also need to travel down the sides of the chairs not through the middle divide of the chairs. '
