'Checkin very friendly, the park is super clean, parking easy. Apartment good with lot of extra's like dishwasher, washing machine, coffee etc. Close to the black beach. Although there is not much around the location (20-30min drive for a supermarket), thats not the worst. On the big island everything takes time to drive, so for a relaxing place, this hotel is recommended.'

'This place is unique, and the huge trees on the property are amazing. You can pick your own fruit and macadamia nuts even, and keep or eat them. The set up of the "common area" is a bit odd, with the main room being part of the hostesses house. The pictures of the beautiful kitchen that I saw in the listing was very misleading, as the kitchen is 100% hands off, guests are not allowed to touch it. Which was really weird and not welcoming, and odd that you can be right next to the hosts personal...

'The lokahi lodge is a very comfortable stay. It’s like staying in a cabin. Very quiet location right next to volcano national park. The room was clean, spacious, and nice. Good stay for anyone wanting to visit the park'

'Nice suite for a weekend. Bed was comfy, tub was nice. Be aware that there is no standard shower, only a tub and hand-held (but it worked fine for us). Some nice touches - fresh fruit (yummy papaya!), nice to have a water dispenser since water bottles don't fit in the bathroom sink. Plenty of towels and bedding just right to adjust temperature (I hate it when the only choices are a HEAVY duvet or just a sheet!).
