Casa Iguana ligt aan de oceaan tussen het strand van Akumal Bay en het strand van Half Moon Bay. Het hart van Akumal, de baai van Akumal, ligt op slechts tien minuten lopen van de accommodatie. Hier vindt u geweldige restaurants, boetieks, duikwinkels en het beroemde Turtle Bay Cafe. Het strand van Akumal is zacht wit zand en is een uitstekende plek om te zonnebaden en te zwemmen. Vooral voor mensen met jongere kinderen!



Een korte wandeling in de andere richting (noord) brengt u naar La Buena Vida Restaurant en Bar en het strand van Half Moon Bay. Half Moon Bay staat bekend om zijn uitstekende snorkelmogelijkheden. Dit is een geweldige plek om koraal en tropische vissen te zien.



Casa Iguana ligt op een groot perceel en dat heeft twee afzonderlijke structuren; het hoofdhuis met twee slaapkamers en de aangrenzende casita met twee slaapkamers. De meest fantastische kenmerken van Casa Iguana zijn de woon- en eetruimtes buiten, het zwembad, de speeltuin voor volleybal en een palapa aan de oceaan met hangmatten. Dit is de perfecte plek om deze geweldige plek te verkennen.



ALGEMEEN LAYOUT Het hoofdhuis van Casa Iguana heeft marmeren vloeren, granieten werkbladen en twee terrassen met uitzicht op de oceaan. Het hoofdhuis heeft twee slaapkamers. De master suite, gelegen op de bovenste verdieping, is ingericht met een queensize bed en is voorzien van airconditioning. De master suite heeft ook een eigen terras met uitzicht op de oceaan ingericht met tafel en stoelen. De logeerkamer op het hoogste niveau is ingericht met twee aparte bedden, die kunnen worden omgezet in een kingsize bed (gespecialiseerde frame en verbindingsset voor een naadloze pasvorm). Deze slaapkamer is ook voorzien van airconditioning.



Ook op het hoogste niveau zijn de volledig uitgeruste keuken en eetkamer. De woonkamer op het bovenste niveau is ingericht met tv, dvd-speler, cd-speler en stereo-installatie en bevat ook een dubbele futon voor extra slaapplaatsen. Er is draadloos internet in het hele pand.

De Casita, die net aan de achterzijde van het hoofdgebouw ligt, geniet van de voorzieningen van het hoofdgebouw, waaronder tv, dvd, cd-speler en draadloos internet. De Casita heeft een eigen woonkamer, een grote en volledig uitgeruste keuken en twee slaapkamers met airconditioning. De eerste logeerkamer (toegankelijk vanuit de woonkamer) is ingericht met twee tweepersoonsbedden, de tweede slaapkamer (toegankelijk via de eerste slaapkamer of via een eigen buitendeur) met een tweepersoonsbed en een eenpersoonsbed. De twee badkamers zijn ook bijgewerkt met marmer en natuursteen. Net buiten het Casita is een groot zit- en eetgedeelte buiten. Een leuk toevluchtsoord aan het einde van de dag!

Casa Iguana biedt ook een houtskoolbarbecuegrill, een buitenterras met wasbak en aangrenzende patio's met eetgelegenheid voor maximaal 12 personen.



Casa Iguana heeft ook een grote oprijlaan die voldoende beveiligde parkeergelegenheid op straat biedt, of kan ook worden gebruikt als een geweldige eet / feestlocatie voor bruiloften en speciale evenementen.

Ein perfekter Aufenthalt in Akumal!

Wir hatten das große Vergnügen, unseren Urlaub in einem wunderschönen Ferienhaus in Akumal zu verbringen, und können nur schwärmen! Das Haus selbst war sauber, geräumig und mit allem ausgestattet, was man für einen erholsamen Aufenthalt braucht. Aber was diesen Aufenthalt wirklich unvergesslich gemacht hat, war die außergewöhnliche Gastfreundschaft von Daniel. Daniel war von Anfang an immer zur Stelle und hat sich rund um die Uhr um all unsere Anliegen gekümmert. Egal, ob es um die Buchung von Touren, die Organisation von Transfers oder einfach nur um Restaurant- und Strandtipps ging – Daniel hatte immer die besten Empfehlungen parat. Er hat uns sogar geholfen, ein Taxi zu finden, wann immer wir eines brauchten, und hat uns stets mit einem freundlichen Lächeln empfangen. Seine Hilfsbereitschaft und sein Engagement, unseren Aufenthalt so angenehm wie möglich zu gestalten, haben uns wirklich beeindruckt. Wir fühlten uns von Anfang an wie zu Hause und konnten uns vollkommen entspannen, weil wir wussten, dass Daniel sich um alles kümmern würde. Wir können dieses Ferienhaus und den großartigen Service von Daniel jedem empfehlen, der einen entspannten und sorglosen Urlaub in Akumal verbringen möchte. Vielen Dank, Daniel, für all deine Hilfe und für die unvergessliche Zeit, die wir hier erleben durften! Wir kommen definitiv wieder!

Casa Iguana was perfect for us

The property includes 2 separate little houses (casitas) with two bedrooms and two bathrooms and a kitchen in each one. This worked well for us because we had two families with children and bedtimes were different. There was plenty of space and no difficulty with sleep patterns. The kitchen in the principal house could use a new stove and the sofa in the casita should be recovered in a fabric that does not absorb humidity. I would also recommend more towel racks for hanging wet towels inside. These were very minor issues. The grounds were stunning and that is most important because in a place like Akumal you want to be outside as much as possible. There were two outdoor eating spaces where all ten of us ate most of our meals. The grill didn't work, but we didn't feel like going to all that effort anyway. The pool was about 6 steps up, so the little ones were slowed down a little and we felt that was safer. The palapa overlooking the ocean and the starry nights was a wonderful place to meditate, have a happy hour, or watch the sunrise. In between the pool and the palapa was a volleyball space which the kids loved for playing with their toys and running around. The property was enclosed by a nice wall and gate which we were also thankful for because the children couldn't run into the road and it cut down on road noise immensely. We felt quite contained and secure. Dani and Patti were available anytime and were great cooks and problem solvers.

Perfect Family House in Akumal

Our family of 9 had the best time at Casa Iguana. Communication ahead of time and while we were there was fantastic. The house and the casita were the perfect fit for my family. Two primary bedrooms in the main house and two rooms in the casita so we could split the boys and girls up. Daniel (the caretaker/cook) and Patty (the house cleaner/cook) were incredible. They really added so much to our trip. The breakfast they made every morning was so good. And Daniel cooked us dinner one night (highly recommend!). They became a part of our family and even came out to eat with us one night. The house is in such a great spot in Akumal. You can walk to La Buena vida, Jungla, La Lunita, the Beach, the shops, Taverna, and everything else you need in Akumal Beach. Thank you for everything!

Tropical Dream

The property was well kept with lots of room to roam from inside the main home to the casita to the outdoors. The pool was clean and sparkling with plenty of chairs and loungers even beach towels. Great location to see wildlife, dine at delicious restaurants, have beach time and most of these are in walking distance. Wonderful small community, with friendly helpful people. This place is perfect for those who need extra help and don't want to be alone. It has two people one of whom lives on property and another who's there during the day, both are always around and wanting to help. Daniel will cook for you all you have to do is ask. We so enjoyed our vacation and look forward to returning!

Second Stay = 5 Stars

This is the second time we have stayed at Casa Iguana, the first was 5 years ago. The property is just as nice as the first time and the location is perfect for both privacy or walking to town. Daniel the on site care taker has been there for a very long time and is always very helpful. Daniel made dinner for us 4 nights and the food is just as good or better than any restaurant we have found. I am sure this will not be out last stay at Casa Iguana.

Perfect Spring Break

We were a group of 9 people, 4 adults and 5 kids and the property worked out great. It is in a safe area, close to several restaurants. We went to La Buena Vida 5 times and also really enjoyed a dinner at the Taverna. Also visited the Turtle Cafe several times. Highly recommend all 3 of them. Manuel was very helpful, he prepared breakfast and cooked a delicious dinner for us. He also helped us with arrangements for a day trip to Tilum and the cenotes. The kids played in the sand volleyball court and the iguanas were an attraction. We felt safe. The property is beautiful and I would return in a heart beat. Covid testing was easy - there was a small, walk-in testing place in town. I think we paid $30 per person and got results within 2 hours.

Great Family Gathering

There were 7 of us ages 18-78, and the house suited us all perfectly. Everyone had a little privacy but lots of places to gather, especially outside. The hammock had a sign up sheet! We had Daniel cook for us 5 out of 7 nights, and each night was better than the one before. Especially the guacamole! We would never hesitate to return.

The property management group did a wonderful job with booking and providing helpful airport shuttles and car rental info. Onsite, Daniel kept watch over the property night and day while Patricia made sure we had fresh linens and towels daily and cleaned as needed. The property itself is quite charming, authentic and comfortable.

Whenever we needed anything, they were willing to help out and go to the store for us or schedule any excursions. The location was also a short walk from multiple restaurants, stores, and beaches. Amazing vacation and hospitality!

Our group of 7 friends stayed at Casa Iguana for 10 days in April 2021. The place was perfect for our group, and a great time was had by all. Plenty of space for everyone to socialize at the pool, cook and enjoy meals together, or just spend some alone time enjoying the ocean view from the palapa. The hospitality and service from the staff, Daniel and Patricia, was just exceptional though; really above and beyond. Daniel welcomed us upon our arrival with our requested welcome dinner, (which was absolutely delicious) and had also shopped for some staples as well, which was really nice. Breakfast every morning was just so nice, filling, and always started our day right. Not only is Daniel a great cook, he was always willing to help us with pretty much everything. He helped us arrange deep-sea fishing, snorkeling to see the turtles in Akumal bay, taxi rides, etc. Patricia was just lovely as well, and kept everything exceptionally clean and tidy. We only had one issue while staying at the property, where the air conditioner unit in one of the rooms broke on a Sunday afternoon. On Monday morning a crew arrived and a brand new unit was installed and ready that day! The location of the house, and Akumal itself was really great; everything you need within walking distance. We shopped at the Akumal general store and OXXO often, but there is also a smaller bodega maybe less than 1/4 mile away. Many great restaurants within walking distance as well; our favorite being La Buena Vida on the beach, again, maybe just a 5 minute walk away. Overall, just a wonderful and relaxing vacation; our own little slice of paradise for 10 days. Will recommend to others, and would love to return!

Amazing secluded beach getaway!

Communication was top notch! We got in late, around 9 pm and the manager Daniel was there with a smile and ready to make guacamole and drinks. The property was large, clean, beautiful, and conveniently located near beaches and businesses- ALL while being extremely private and secure. I recommend a car as there is A LOT to see and do between Cancun and Tulum. Akumal is right in the center. A beautiful grocery store Chedrauli (like Target) was right off main freeway 9 min up the road. Tulum was 30 min south and Playa del Carmen was 30 min North. We took the ferry from Playa to Cozumel for the day and snorkeled all day. There is a secret Tulum beach with a bar and chairs called appropriately, Beach Club Bar - $5 a chair and white sand, excellent food, sun and shade- the best. There are Cenotes everywhere. The best restaurants in Akumal to the right of the property(5 min walk) La Buena Vida and to the left (10 min walk) Turtle Bay Cafe and the Pizzeria ( high end pizza,pasta, wine, etc. Daniel and Alicia take care of the house and will help set up tours, meals, and keep the property a perfect 10 at all times! Having hammocks overlooking the ocean, your own pool, outdoor eating, and plenty of indoor space made this family trip so special. Can't wait to return!!

Well maintained private oasis

Well maintained property and good communication with property managers before and during our stay. Lots of space for our two families. and total of 5 children. We were well looked after. Daniel's cooking is excellent and Alicia kept the space tidy. Please note that an extra 5% of total is recommended as a tip for the staff. Staff were lovely and helpful. Daniel was particularly helpful in planning our excursions. Location is great - able to walk to a nearby beach and small convenience stores. Overall, a very relaxing stay . We would happily return.

A most wonderful stay - Feb. 8-22, 2020

What an amazing trip! We absolutely LOVED our stay at Casa Iguana! We can't thank Daniel enough for all of his delicious meals and snacks (especially the guacamole...yum!), for organizing golf carts and a fishing trip, his helpful advice and information, his patient Spanish lessons and just being so darned accommodating. Thank you Daniel, you are a lovely man!! We had rented a car, but with the easy and convenient walkability of Casa Iguana's location, and having Daniel always happily willing to arrange transportation for us, we found it to be an unnecessary expense. The nearby beaches, numerous restaurants with delicious food offerings, shops and groceries stores are all within very easy walking distance. Extremely convenient! Never for a moment did we feel unsafe in Casa Iguana or Akumal. Casa Iguana has it's own security (thank you to them for their long nights keeping watch) and we found the people of Akumal so friendly! Another big thank you to Alicia for keeping the house and casita so clean - we loved being greeted by her big, beautiful smile every morning. The house and casita were perfect for our group of 7. We loved the outdoor space - especially the large outdoor table for family game nights and morning coffee. We enjoyed spending time by the pool & relaxing in the hammocks by the ocean. Fantastic!!

Every year my family of 12 (6 adults/6 kids) picks a different place to meet & enjoy time together. This year we picked Casa Iguana in Akumal & it was our best location to date! Casa Iguana is a short walk to Akumal Bay & Half Moon Bay and if you just feel like relaxing, you can lounge by the pool or in the hammocks overlooking the ocean. There are places to be in the sun, or the shade & the air conditioning throughout the casita & main house kept us cool while inside. One of the most pleasant surprises was Daniel. If you stay here you MUST have him cook for you. Yes, it is convenient, but most importantly, he is an amazing chef & will treat you to the most delicious meals you will have during your entire stay in Akumal. He is also an invaluable source of information & not only helped us find a fishing boat/guide, he helped clean & cook the fish that we caught. Additionally, Alicia worked every day to keep Casa Iguana clean and in order. Our entire reservation from start to finish was straight forward & easy. Every question I had (& I had many) was answered quickly & thoroughly by the staff at Akumal Direct Reservations. If I could give Casa Iguana more than 5 stars, I would!

Amazing Experience!

What a dream! We had 5 adults and three kiddos and this had a perfect amount of space. Daniel (on site overseer) cooked amazing meals and always made sure we had a cold cerveza available. The main house has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The guest house has two bedrooms and bathrooms as well. A full kitchen and seating area are in both the main and guest house. We ate all of our meals outside since it is so beautiful and has a larger table. Make sure to ask for tips on where to access the beach. You will need to walk 5-8 minutes to access the non-rocky part and some places charge you 200 pesos per person. We loved our time!

We enjoyed our time there. Daniel (the house keeper) was very attentive. The pictures make the house look bigger than it actually is. Nonetheless, we were all comfortable.

Family Vacation

We really enjoyed our stay in Akumal Casa Iguana . Daniel cooked for us on most night's it was delicious!! Alicia kept things tidy for us she was wonderful! The property was fun, ocean views, Volleyball and a pool! We enjoyed visiting! The house has alot of space and it's own compound. Sun rises are beautiful!
