During certain months, particularly in April and August, there is often an opportunity to witness the release of baby sea turtles on nearby protected beaches — a truly magical and unforgettable experience.

Santamar by Tao, is a 93.9 km or 58.4 miles, one hour and 12-minute drive from the Cancun International Airport (CUN). The development is situated on the beachside of the highway in Akumal and is only accessible by vehicle. Parking options include free street parking and a general complex parking lot on a first-come, first-served basis. Public transportation options like taxis and buses are readily available to explore the surrounding area.

Electricity is expensive here, so please help save energy by using the AC only when needed, closing all windows and doors when it's on, and shutting it off every time you leave. A daily allowance of 20Kw/Day of electricity is included for short-term rentals (2-27 nights). Additional consumption will be charged at 3.85 mxn/kw. Electricity is not included for bookings of 28 nights or more. On arrival, our local team will take a meter reading, and again on departure. You will be billed after check-out for any additional consumption.

We do supply some bath essentials to get you started, like some toilet paper, and soap. These items are not replenished each time you run out.

- Travelers must be at least 21 years of age or older to book.

- Please note that there is a mandatory cleaning service every from 21 nights on & every 21 days, at a charge of $70 USD. If your stay is between 21 and 42 nights, you'll be charged an additional $70; for stays between 42 and 63 nights, two cleaning fees ($140 total) will apply, and for every additional 21 nights thereafter, $70 will be charged.
- No smoking of any kind inside the home! Drug use and illegal activity on the premises are also strictly prohibited. Failure to comply results in a $300 fine.
- No parties, events, or excessive noise after 10 pm. Please respect the neighbors.
- No more guests than those listed in your reservation are allowed. There’s an extra charge for additional guests and visitors over the property's capacity.
- Guests are responsible for damages that occur or extra cleaning costs as a result of their stay.
- There are outdoor security cameras for safety and security.
- Depending on the booking site to make the reservation, a security deposit might be required that is refunded after check-out, provided all terms are met.

The location is excellent, and the decor along with the rooftop views are impressive. Please inform us if you decide to sell. The kitchen was well equipped, and everything was clean, comfortable, and of good quality.Since this is a newer rental, I'd like to provide some constructive feedback for future rentals. Installing door sweeps on the doors could help keep bugs out, as there were issues with ants and large beetles frequently entering. It was challenging to keep them out.Additionally, providing tools to clean the patio doors and glass when wind blows saltwater would help maintain the views. Some instructions on how to properly use the air conditioning with humidity might be helpful for guests unfamiliar with it.When contacting the management company, they responded quickly and were helpful. However, the late check-out process seemed unclear. Despite no renters booked for the following day or week after our departure, we were charged 50 for an extra 2 hours. This wasn't a major issue but something we'd avoid in the future.This place is beautiful, and we look forward to returning.Thank you for having us in your beautiful home.

Peaceful retreat

The condo exceeded our expectations. Very clean, very high end. View was great from both the balcony and the rooftop. One of the few in this complex with mostly un-obstructed views of the ocean. Bed, bedding and pillows all very nice. There are TV's in the bedrooms, which I didn't see listed anywhere before, which was a plus. Kitchen had everything needed to cook, including oils and spices. There was hand soap, bar soap and body wash in the bathrooms, but no shampoo or conditioner, so you'll want to bring some. Regular and beach towels are provided, and are high quality.The complex was very quite while we were there in May and had the pools to ourselves. Didn't hear any construction noise despite the next set of condos near by not yet completed. The only walkable restaurant is the Beached Bikini, which was only fair. The Jungle Fish is much better, but a long and little precarious trek. So, everything else must be driven to.We enjoyed the tranquil mornings and evenings on the balcony or roof and also exploring the rocky ocean front. If you want a slower pace with affordable luxury, this is the place.
