I like this resort, all would give it 5 stars, but not the sales staff at check-out.
Overall, the experience was very good. From front desk service, restaurants to room services.
However, one experience significantly affected our impression.
We joined Tour, where the sales team introduced the resort membership. I understand this is part of their job, and although it took up half a day, we were respectful and understanding. At the end of the tour, we bought one $299 discounted future-stay voucher. The staff repeatedly tried to persuade us to buy two, suggesting we give one to family or friends. We politely declined, saying we wanted to try it first.
What made us uncomfortable was that we were repeatedly asked, “Don’t you have family and friends?” This question felt inappropriate and created unnecessary pressure.
Unfortunately, the same situation happened again at checkout. After confirming our room number and asking about our stay, another salesperson again pushed another $299 membership for family, and repeated the same question: “you don’t have family and friends?”This left me very uncomfortable, what’s the answer for this question? especially at checkout, which should be a positive final moment of the stay.
I understand sales goals and respect the effort of the staff, but this approach—especially using personal questions to pressure guests—was unpleasant. The aggressive sales behavior at checkout significantly lowered our overall impression of an otherwise excellent hotel.
