I always try to find the positive in every experience, but unfortunately, my stay at this hotel was disappointing.
To start with a positive the shuttle service, although just a van, was very clean and the drivers were kind and professional.
However, the hotel is advertised as "Grand Royal," yet still displays signage and branding from Holiday Inn, which was confusing. The lobby initially appeared nice, but as we walked toward the rooms, the decor shifted dramatically to a dated 1970s look with yellow wallpaper and an overall tired atmosphere.
The room itself was a decent size, but what truly impacted our stay was the lack of housekeeping. We stayed for four days, and despite requesting daily at the front desk for our room to be cleaned, trash removed, and fresh towels provided, nothing was ever done. Each time, staff assured us it was noted and would be taken care of—but it never was.
Another frustrating issue was the difficulty reaching the front desk by phone. I called multiple times while trying to locate the shuttle at the airport and couldn't get anyone to answer.
Overall, this stay was more stressful than restful. While I appreciate the small positives, I would not recommend this hotel based on my experience
