Creekside Cabin op 40 hectare, F / P, kampvuur, Trail door Creek

Prachtige Sugar Creek slingert zich rond de grote afgeschermde veranda van de Wildacre-hut, slechts enkele meters verderop. Slaap met je ramen open en laat het borrelen van de kreek je susten om te slapen 's nachts.

Geniet van een luie middag in de hangmat bij de kreek of ontspan in de rockers op de afgeschermde veranda. Tafel en stoelen beschikbaar op afgeschermde veranda voor comfortabel eten aan de Creekside. Picknicktafels bij de kreek. Toast marshmallows in de kampvuurring. Wandel over het pad op het terrein dat de kreek meerdere keren kruist, of maak een wandeling op de Pin-Hoti Trail (sluit zich aan bij de Appalachian Trail bij Benton McKaye), op slechts 1,5 km afstand.

Wildacre ligt in de bergen van North Georgia, bij US 76 / GA 282 tussen Ellijay en Chatsworth, GA. In de buurt van Fort Mountain State Park, Carters Lake, Chief Vann House, New Echota, outlet malls in Dalton en antiquing in Ellijay.

  • During the 1790s, James Vann became a Cherokee Indian leader and wealthy businessman. He established the largest and most prosperous plantation in the Cherokee Nation, covering 1,000 acres of what is now Murray County. In 1804 he completed construction of a beautiful 2 ½-story brick home that was the most elegant in the Cherokee Nation. After Vann was murdered in 1809, his son Joseph inherited the mansion and plantation. Joseph was also a Cherokee leader and became even more wealthy than his father. In the 1830s almost the entire Cherokee Nation was forced west by state and federal troops on the infamous Trail of Tears. The Vann family lost their elegant home, rebuilding in the Cherokee Territory of Oklahoma. Today the Vann House survives as Georgia’s best-preserved historic Cherokee Indian home. A guided tour allows visitors to see the house which features beautiful hand carvings, a remarkable “floating” staircase, a 12-foot mantle and fine antiques.

We had a great stay. The cabin was nicely decorated for Christmas and the host always provides a thoughtful welcome basket for the guests. You can see by reading through the guest books that this is a favorite vacation rental of hundreds of other guests. It will remain one of our favorites, as well. We are so glad the owners chose to share it with others. Can't wait to come during the warmer months to enjoy more of the beautiful property.

In all honesty we would want to keep this our secret so we could go there more often.5 stars is simply not enough.Where do we start? It has to begin with that screened in porch. The sound of the creek, the wildlife, the crickets at night. The rain on the roof! The cabin…exquisite and incredibly cozy.The hosts reached out to us prior to arrival to ensure we had all we needed. Directions, explanations and information for the cabin.There was even a guest basket left for us and we enjoyed it…on the porch of course.We have stayed at many locations and this truthfully was by far the overall best experience.

Loved the property! First thing my husband said was " I feel like a kid again at the creek in Ohio where I grew up". The thought that was put into everything at the cabin, from the movies, books and crayons, to the fire pit and shooting station. Everything was perfect!

The Creekside Cabin was a magical place for our family of 5's summer vacation! Directions and check in instructions were readily available. Upon entering the rustic and quaint cabin, we were greeted by an updated and comfortable interior. The living room was plush and the beds were comfy with lots of pillows and extra blankets. The hosts had left a gift basket with fresh fruit, snacks, and wine! The kitchen was well stocked with a coffee maker, toaster, microwave, oven and stove top. There was even waffle mix and a waffle iron for our breakfast the next morning (we only needed butter and water to make). The cabin is nestled in a valley between the small towns of Chatsworth and Ellijay. We stocked up on groceries to enjoy most of our meals at the cabin. Our teenage boys loved playing in the creek out front of the cabin! I recommend bringing river shoes for walking in the creek as some spots are slippery. The hosts provided a basket of towels, small tubes and water toys as well as a couple of chairs for sitting in the water (that was my favorite part)! Definitely bring plenty of bug spray as there, understandably, are bugs in the summer time. We enjoyed sitting on the screened in porch too. There is a precious flower and herb garden beside the cabin and a large vegetable garden on the ridge nearby. The hosts also provided firewood for the fire circle near the creek as well as metal marshmallow roasting sticks. Highly recommend!!!

Peaceful Retreat

An absolute gem! Couldn’t get enough of the lovely screened porch with the sounds of the creek and gentle breeze. Loved the solitude of the property but easy paved access. Other than a quick trip into Ellijay and a short hike on the Pinhoti Trail, I enjoyed just relaxing at the property. It had everything I needed - the welcome basket was a nice surprise! I’ll definitely keep this on my list!

Perfect Little Get Away

We were welcomed by the gentle sound of the creek and the sweet smells of a clean and cozy cabin. Judy was attentive to all of our needs. The kids loved looking for salamanders and crawfish under rocks by the creek and roasting marshmallows by the camp fire. I loved laying in the hammock reading my book, while my husband fished the creek. On the cold day and night we enjoyed a fire inside nestled on the couch watching one of the hundreds of available movies. The master bath was better than expected. We enjoyed our short drive to Blueridge and Ellijay for horseback riding and shopping. There is much history to learn about in this area and Fort Mountain had one of the most breathtaking overlooks I’ve ever seen. I highly recommend this cabin, my only regret was not booking it for longer.
